Yes, an election can be seen as a two elections in one, at least in the USA. There is first the nomination election, and then the general election. To be nominated by the modern Republican Party, a candidate must convince an extreme 10% of voters to vote for them.

What election system? It seems that we only have a (s)election system now. One in which it takes days and weeks to determine who has more ballots (not votes, as voters no longer matter). It's funny how the longer that (s)elections go on for, the more often that D's end up being (s)elected.

The irony is that even when losing, dipshits on the left think they are winning. America lost this November 8th. And once again, states couldn't count their votes in one day? Florida, one of the most populous states, can do it. Perhaps they need to get lessons from DeSantis how to do things right? ;)

If DeSantis wins the GOP nomination, what do you think Trump will do? I don't see him staying on the sidelines. He's so used to campaigning and it feeds his massive ego as well as his bank account.

Many think he will run as an independent and siphon off red votes, giving the Dems an easy win.
