I'm more concerned about the possible cost in human lives.Agreed that the Trump administration is more likely to push risk in anticipation of profitable results. No doubt the Tech Lord investors want it but the lawyers are the ones hesitating due to liability.

Hundreds are already dead including children. More will die including Americans. There are thousands of Americans trying to get out of the ME. Iran will try to make an example out of them.
One of my friends, who used to post here and on the old Amazon forum, lives in Dubai. This is what she had to say this morning:
"I've watched multiple videos of Arabs from various countries over here totally annoyed that when so many Westerners fled the bombings...they left their pets behind. Didn't even make sure they had another family or someone to care for them, just set them loose in the streets or tied outside their homes etc.
"Holy shit. Arabs, generally speaking, are not big on dog ownership but imagine them getting disgusted when Big Dog Owners flee dangerous areas and leave their dogs behind and Arabs are the ones who step in to ensure these "much loved pets" are taken care of."
That's a pretty disgusting thing to do. They must know that Arabs will do what the owner is too cowardly to do; put the pet down. Letting it suffer ownerless only to be harshly treated and executed is immoral, IMO.
She said that they'll take care of the abandoned pets but were pissed that they would just dump them and run.
The kind of thing "entitled" people do.
I'd be pissed too if my neighbors evacuated and let their pets loose to starve in the streets.
It’s not so much westerners as it is Americans. When I lived in Germany the Americans by and large were army soldiers and dependents. They were notorious for doing the same thing.
My daughter and son in law who live in Germany had to go through a strict screening process just to adopt two rescue cats.
