So Much Winning

You'd be surprised though that you can do well even w/o an adviser handling it for you. But it does take a LOT of research and a lot of patience. Mr. Owl handles all of our investments through Schwab. He doesn't pay an adviser; just a transaction fee when buying or selling. But he's invested all his life, has a Masters in Finance/Economics and reads financial reports and news like most guys read about sports. He's pretty amazing.

Good luck. I hope this downturn is over soon, but have my doubts.
I have not, I struggled for a good part of my life (mostly my own doing) and have only been investing for a little over a decade.

Poor life choices, I have made them, lol.

Worked out alright in the end. Turns out if you talk to the right people there's actually a demand for my particular brand of stupid.

We've all made a poor life choice now and then. Your gift is recognizing it and being willing to correct it. IMO if you are still working as you're investing, you're wise not to look at your accounts often. I try not to look at ours when Trump is fucking stuff up because it just makes me anxious. That's what we watch the news for -- to be made anxious. lol

As if the falling markets, rising gas prices, and WAR WAR WAR aren't enough, Trump did this, too.

The US economy lost 92,000 jobs in February and the unemployment rate rose to 4.4%

Hiring at US businesses unexpectedly plunged last month as employers shed an estimated 92,000 jobs, according to new data released Friday by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The unemployment rate edged higher to 4.4% from 4.3% during a month when a major labor strike occurred and a deep cold snap hit many US states.
they say AI is to blame.

shouldn't we just unplug all that bullshit?

In February 2026, the U.S. economy lost a total of 92,000 jobs, with the vast majority of losses occurring in the private sector. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (.gov), private sector employment fell by 86,000 jobs, driven by declines in health care due to strikes, while government payrolls dropped by 6,000.

Let me guess, another MAGAT Incel is worrying about my personal financial situation? No, we were not government employees. I'm a retired nurse; he's a retired software engineer. Why on Earth does that loser want that info?
Some MAGA moron just indulged in a fantasy that you are scraping by on welfare and public assistance.
It's almost impossible for MAGA high school dropouts to imagine the life of a software engineer and medical professional.

Agreed. Add to this the luck factor. I once outran the cops when I was 18. Had I been caught, it would have altered the course of my life even if I didn't go to prison. As you mentioned, a crucial factor is recognizing the mistake and correcting it...meaning not repeating it plus learning the danger of takin such risks.

They are pissed about being called out on their substance abuse issues and dementia so they lash out with such fantasies.

The bottom line here is that people can claim whatever they like, but if their posts don't match their claims, then it becomes a non sequitur.

On JPP, due to the demographics, I suspect the most common problem is elderly dementia although people like Matt and Top may have alcoholic dementia.

Must be one of the cretins I keep on ignore. I've posted enough photos of our home and property and adventures to nix that notion, but tards are gonna tard. lol

Thanks for the correction!

I think it was Ms. Fat Lame, but she's not the only one who has made disparaging remarks about you and others who don't give Trump a firm, stiff one-armed salute.

Trump is our most corrupt President so it's characteristic he would be the least accountable for his actions.

People like Trump are the reason religionists made up the concept of Hell. They seem to go blithely through life, escaping one dire consequence of their evil after another. Therefore, we need a Hell to hope they end up in since they're never going to be held accountable in this life.
