Small size of most U.S. police departments complicates reform

Did you walk down the street with a .22 when you were a kid and the cops gave you no bullshit, er wut?
It was a respected right back in them days. :dunno:
No kids had to worry about walking around with a .22

Yeah, they were not walking around with bigger guns because we were kids, yeah.

I did. I walked through town down to the dump to shoot rats with a S&W K.38 on my hip many times when I was 15. The cops waved when they drove by...

does your source include people killed while trying to kill someone else?......of course it does.....
Of course. Quit being stupid. Why do you love seeing people killed? Why are you against people being held accountable for their actions be they good or bad?

It's the big city "Soros (funded) prosecutors that are causing the crime jumps
No bail, and now little prosecution for the Portland rioters (yes they are rioters) even by the Biden DoJ
means these thugs take a walk and show up again..they aint gonna stop

Use of force standards. Eliminating immunity.

Use of force standards.

Invent Robocop. If you eliminate immunity, you're telling a cop that they are not human, that by wearing that badge and carrying that gun, they are not allowed to do something that is perhaps the most human thing a human being can do: make a fucking mistake. I hope you hold yourself to the same standard. More cops are killed because THEY made a mistake than dirtbags getting killed by cops making bad use of force decisions. Why don't you guys ever talk about educating the dirtbags on the proper behavior to exhibit when confronted by a cop with a bat belt full of all kinds of neat toys that can wound and kill you?

Experts say that while smaller departments have their benefits, including being able to adapt to their communities and hire officers with local ties, these agencies also are typically able to avoid the accountability being sought as part of the national movement to restructure and improve policing. These departments’ often limited resources and the decentralized structure of American law enforcement complicate efforts to mandate widespread training and policy changes, experts say.

“It’s unlike any other country,” Wexler said. “In places like the United Kingdom, you have a Home Office, you have standards. In Germany or Israel … they have a national police. Our policing is completely fragmented, decentralized, with no national standards.”

What "national movement" might you be talking about dumbshit?

if you look back to what you quoted (but must not have read) my statement was about people the cops killed who WEREN'T trying to kill someone else when they were shot.........and I don't see the need to hold people "accountable" for their good actions.........to be honest, I don't understand why you think they should.....can you explain that please?.......

Dude, you're free to lie and advocate killing as many people as you like since you're clearly not a Christian.

The fact you lie about others and advocate killing people as your preferred solution to mentally ill people is undermined by your support for the Insurrection attacking police.
a person shot and killed by a policeman isn't necessarily a problem.......in fact, in the majority of situations it is the solution........

according to the WP there are about 1000 killed by police a year.......90% would mean 100 innocent people a year.......I think we would have had a lot more press if that were true........I'll settle on 99%.....that gives us 10 per year.....maybe high, but close enough......

https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/investigations/police-shootings-database/

The reporting alone is suspect, considering how they wrote the following paragraph to twist stats in a general direction.....

"Black Americans are killed at a much higher rate than White Americans

Although half of the people shot and killed by police are White, Black Americans are shot at a disproportionate rate. They account for less than 13 percent of the U.S. population, but are killed by police at more than twice the rate of White Americans. Hispanic Americans are also killed by police at a disproportionate rate. "

One also has to wonder how those deaths are reported by police....as an example, the UPS truck jacking that ended up with the hostage being killed in the crossfire......those results of which bullet(s) actually killed them has not been released over a year later...Now, I'll grant you that this isn't a very high number and it's probably not an isolated, though very uncommon, event......I would maybe go 95% taking the split between us

In March, the House passed the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act, an overhaul of police practices that would ban the use of chokeholds, strengthen federal civil rights laws, create a national database to track officer misconduct and end qualified immunity, making it easier for officers to be sued for their actions in the line of duty. The legislation has failed to advance in the Senate.

Yokes stop fights and save lives. Stupid fucking policy.

I've stopped..5 fights by yoking people out. Nobody's jaw got broken those times.

It works, to ban that is stupid.

I'm not sure why you felt it was necessary to lie about which of my posts you were quoting, but it is rather sad that you would do so.........

Link or just a number you pulled out of your ass like anal beads?

It's more than eight, dumbass: https://www.statista.com/statistics/585152/people-shot-to-death-by-us-police-by-race/
