Glenn Beck Loses A SiriusXM Radio Show Over Supposed Threats To Assassinate Trump


Glenn Beck is well known as a right-wing extremist who loves to pass on every conspiracy theory about President Obama while crying Visine tears over the sad state of his country. His “news” network, The Blaze, is a propaganda mill worthy of 1939 Germany. To conservatives, Glenn Beck has been a hero spreading (their delusional version of) the truth to militia wannabes and rightie bigots for years now. His standing with the right has never been questioned — until now that is.

Unfortunately for Beck, he’s gone and made himself a right-wing media pariah by not supporting Donald Trump for president. Beck backed Ted Cruz when he was still in it, proving he didn’t really care which a**hole on the GOP ballot destroyed America just so long as his tax bracket seemed secure. When Cruz backed out, Beck made the mistake of not throwing his support behind Donald Trump but instead interviewing another radical and discussing the possibility that “the American people would be put in the terrible position” of getting rid of Trump if he oversteps his constitutional authority.

SiriusXM has now suspended Glenn Beck’s show for a week while they “reevaluate” its place in the lineup. Sirius said in a statement:

“SiriusXM encourages a diversity of discourse and opinion on our talk programs. However, comments recently made by a guest on the independently produced Glenn Beck Program, in our judgement, may be reasonably construed by some to have been advocating harm against an individual currently running for office, which we cannot and will not condone. For that reason, we have suspended The Glenn Beck Program from our Patriot channel for the coming week and are evaluating its place in our lineup going forward. SiriusXM is committed to a spirited, robust, yet responsible political conversation and believes this action reflects those values.”

Were Beck and his guest actually talking about assassinating Donald Trump? That seems to be speculative, but anything that takes an idiot like Glenn Beck off the air for even a day is a good thing. Listen to the audio of the exchange below:

It seems a bit ambiguous, sure, but remember: Beck’s audience are the same fools who still believe President Obama installed Muslim prayer curtains,” an item that doesn’t exist in that religion, in the East Room of the White House right after he invited high-ranking members of the Muslim Brotherhood to sleep in the Lincoln Bedroom for the summer.

This is devastating news to Beck’s supporters, who will now have to double down on the time they spend listening to Rush Limbaugh and Alex Jones. For the rest of us, it’s cause for celebration.

I guess the sponsors would rather Americans do nothing if Douchebag Donald oversteps his constitutional authority. :dunno:

The guy Beck was speaking with said a couple times he didn't think the "weak spineless Congress" would do anything if Trump overstepped his authority.

Which to me pretty clearly implies assassination.

Not much ambiguous there, anatta. Here is the transcript-

THOR: He is a danger to America and I got to ask you a question and this is serious and this could ring down incredible heat on me because I’m about to suggest something very bad. It is a hypothetical I am going to ask as a thriller writer.

With the feckless, spineless Congress we have, who will stand in the way of Donald Trump overstepping his constitutional authority as President? If Congress won’t remove him from office, what patriot will step up and do that if, if, he oversteps his mandate as president, his constitutional-granted authority, I should say, as president.

If he oversteps that, how do we get him out of office? And I don’t think there is a legal means available. I think it will be a terrible, terrible position the American people will be in to get Trump out of office because you won’t be able to do it through Congress.

Sounds to me that Thor is claiming that, if Congress won't remove Trump from office, he suggests that the only way is for a single patriot to step up and remove him from office. Claiming that he doesn't think that there is a legal means available, pretty much is the definition of assassinating a sitting president in my book. It doesn't much sound like Thor had a political solution in mind when he said that his suggestion "could ring down incredible heat" on him. Beck got suspended for agreeing with Thor's violent suggestion.

Fiction author Brad Thor denied that he was referring to an assassination attempt on Donald Trump in his controversial recent comments on Glenn Beck’s radio program.
The Blaze reported Tuesday:

In a comment to TheBlaze, Thor, who previously called on people to pray for Trump’s safety, said he was discussing a “hypothetical America under a dictator,” reiterating that he was not referring to an “assassination” in his comments.

“What happens if a president suspends the Constitution and Congress does nothing?” Thor asked. “Safeguarding the Republic against despotism is a topic of conversation that dates back to the Founders.”

Offering additional clarification about his previous comments, Thor said, “If we had to unseat a president without the backing of the Congress, we would need a patriot along the lines of George Washington to lead the country from tyranny back to liberty.”

So, anatta, you were right. Obviously, Thor wouldn't think of suggesting assassination as an illegal solution to ousting Trump, he was merely assuming that Beck's audience would understand that he meant all true patriots would rise up and seize the country back from a despot, illegally led by a cranky old man with wooden teeth.
