First of all the gobblement isn't really shut down is it? Just "unncecessary" functions. Which I think begs the argument lets end them altogether and save us some money.

Has your life been materially harmed by this so called shutdown?

What you may mean is that it hasn't inconvenienced you...and that may be so.

For a self-centered, think-only-about-self thing like you...that might be enough.

But there are others who have been impacted...and some of us have enough humanity to care about that.

I know Frankie you love to proclaim how much you care about others but I suspect it is all words considering you are always looking for the gobblement to handle your compassion using other people’s money.

It is more ridiculous to get upset over something that has no meaningful effect on your life. 75% of the government is open for business. Essential employees in the remaining part are still at their post.

C'mon, IHA. You can do better than that.

Anyway...I have cut back on volunteer work to help others...but back during my 40's through 60's...I did LOTS AND LOTS of volunteer work which impacted many others...and which often saved government money.

LOTS OF IT.

Yeah...now at 82...I've cut back. Actually I cut back in my 70's.

I asked my Homeland Security neighbor about the shutdown. He said it wasn't a secret the shutdown could happen so they had time to prepare for it and we need to secure our borders. Asked another neighbor who works for Uncle Donnie if it was affecting him, said nope they are already budgeted,and even if it did, we need to secure our borders. The biggest swath of those directly affected are directly or indirectly in law enforcement/security. My guess is that among them, my neighbors aren't outliers. Sure NASA is down to 4% staffing, but it isn't like we have any spaceships anyway.

I asked some of my neighbors...and they said that Donald Trump is a lying piece of shit...and that none of this is truly about border security...it is about Donald Trump trying desperately to make good on a promise he cannot make good on.
