I am going to let you political adversaries, in the peanut gallery, battle this all out while playing Investigator, DA, JUDGE and JURY, while adding all the political spin and use of Conspiracy Theories, and lack of known facts, in the matter or our last two presidents mishandling our nations top secrets.
I really don't know the official Federal rules of handling Classified information, but, I always thought that these matters were being handled in a non-political way and that they were at least being tracked by someone by the powers that be.
But, perhaps our government has no way to prevent these documents from being duplicated and passed out in the oval office like peanuts and there is no way to officially trace them, once they have been duplicated and passed out.
I have said this for the last 6 years, president have too much power. And a lot of their unique presidential powers, need to be cut back. This thing about you can't indict a sitting president for crimes, is JUST ONE that needs to go by the wayside. These ideas that allows a president to refuse to testify is another. And the use of pardoning criminals is just another. No President should be allowed to create money for himself while in office. Presidents should not get to spend 100's of millions of dollars running back and forth to their multi-milliion dollar estates and golf tournaments at the tax-payers expense every weekend, and the list goes on and on. I do not believe any president is above the law, criticism, or above having to take the stand and answer questions, or are any better than any of the rest of us. Presidents are not GODS. And they have never been perfect.
So I won't interfere with the investigations of either Trump or Biden- or any other Republican or Democrat president!

But I also believe if we do not have proper and effective ways to track our nations Classified Documents, making them illegal to duplicate, and having strict rules that apply to all presidents and those that hold copies of the documents, then it's time we do.
These can't just be Blue laws or loose that when broken the presidents get a hand slap and some bad press.
The penalties need to be real and harsh, even if both Trump and Biden needs to go to jail, at some point, to make believers out of all future presidents- that the rules have to be followed at all times.
But, I will wait until the investigations play out before I try to play Mind Reader, or Conspiracy Theorist, Cheerleader, or Judge or Jury!
As I understand it, as of now, Both Trump and Biden are being investigated for the obvious mishandling of documents by both presidents.
And none of us knows Poodillly Squat about the motivations behind either the actions of Biden or Trump! The motivations could be the very same and they could be totally different.
But, You-think-you-know-it-alls knock yourselves out and dream up all the Conspiracy Theories, What-about-isms, political gotcha's and "MY GUY IS BETTER THAN YOUR GUY BULLSHIT" YOU CAN DISH OUT- if you think this is really helping matters!
I just don't believe it helps and is starting to look like a farting contest to me- like most every thread I see here anymore!
I believe all the rhetoric is creating and fostering even more hatred across the aisle, and total chaos!
And I think we have all lost sight of what is really important and best for our nation- and what we have to do together to resolve all of our problems- BECAUSE WE ARE ALL RESPONSIBLE- AND WE ARE ALL IN THIS THING TOGETHER!
