So you say.
One was a former Cabinet member, that's what I say.
So you say.
Maybe she worked part-time for a few years.
Maybe she had no childcare.
Maybe she had another job in addition to Mickey D's.
Maybe they only gave her 15 hours a week.
I could go on and on, but what I don't understand is why people immediately start denigrating the woman without knowing the whole story.
I bet there are many more woman on boards now, men are greedy and woman are too smart to keep off.You know it Toppy. Now that you mention it, there were no women on this particular board.
You mean commitment to being on the board? Because I worked at a corp. that got two well-known figures to sit on the board and they were pretty much window dressing. And when I say well-known, I mean on a national and international basis.
In the time it took you to post that, you could have Googled her and educated yourself, couldn't you?
Must have?
She must have done more than just show up if she was there for 10 years.
I'm gonna just say that 1860's mentality of elbow grease being more Nobel than brain grease is hilarious.Yes, some are figureheads for fund-raising, etc. Were they not accomplished in their own rights? Azzhat was saying that they did nothing, never worked as hard as the people working at McDs. My claim was that most people on boards have earned that position in some way.

So why stay for 10 years if it didnt meet her financial needs? She is responsible for kids. You just made a ton of excuses for a seemingly healthy woman to stagnate for 10 years.

My beef is the board member salaries and the aristocratic like membership.

The dad's responsible for the kids, too. My point was that all I know about the situation is the 3-4 sentences in the newspapers, and I'm not going to judge her based on that.
Why? Maybe she never did anything more than just what she was asked and other employees worked harder and did more and earned their way up. I've seen plenty of people that never took any initiative, had an original idea, went out of their way to help someone else or do more, took every single sick day they were allowed. How do you know what her work ethic was?
I know, I couldn't believe it. Not only a really hefty salary but all expenses for the times they were in town and believe me, those people weren't picking up burgers to go at Mickey D's.
Totally not arrested!
Escorted out.
Free Lear jet ride home to be fired
10 years is a long time to excuse. From her little speech it didnt sound like she took any responsibility for her choice or efforts in working there.
Are you claiming that the majority of people serving on corporate boards did not work their way up in the world from an entry level job or by starting their own business?
You really are jumping to conclusions with that.
What we know based on the video is that she asked a question and got escorted out.
