Meh...he's a very qualified conservative SCOTUS nominee and will probably be confirmed after some drama and histrionics. The real story is Merrick Garland, another equally qualified candidate and the what, where and when Democrats will retaliate.

I don't have a problem with him. I didn't have a problem with a moderate like Garland who had an even better curriculum vitae.

Desh drives me bananas, but in a way, she's part of the fabric of the board. I think she goes all the way back to the politics.com days. She was definitely on Fullpolitics - she basically ended that board, from what I remember (a pretty disruptive spam battle w/ Dixie, if memory serves me correctly).

In a way, I like seeing all of the viewpoints. I prefer discussions on the board w/ the more rational members, but it's also good to see what the fringes are thinking.

They didn't fill the Senate, in fact, the GOP lost seats in the Senate, nor was this President the choice of the majority of Americans who voted, not even mentioning the fact that over half of America didn't even want to vote, so don't automatically imply legitimacy because of the election

And the guy is a good choice, unfortunately he is going to fall prey to the partisanship preying on the nation today, and before you start, their is enough hypocrisy to cover both parties. In the end the Democrats will force the GOP to go nuclear, both parties will claim victory, and it all will only add to the abnormality theme of the Trump Administration
 
This selection is probably the least horrible thing the clown in chief has yet done.
