I have always said when it comes to science, engineering and law Western civilization is impressively unique, largely because of our Roman and Christian heritage.

When Europeans first explored Africa, they talked of huge cities they saw. Those cities are no longer there. The jungle reclaims the land. The recent excavations show that pyramids were not built by slaves. They have found workers quarters that show some comforts and bakeries and cooks taking care of them.

Nothing really impressive. The adobe structures of Western Africa in the sub-Saharan are no more impressive really than such structures the indigenous peoples of the US Southwest were building, and those aren't all that impressive. Great Zimbabwe, is not that impressive and given that it's a singular construction doesn't speak well for it being copied elsewhere.
Asia and India made great contributions in all that too. sub-Saharan Africa didn't contribute much, if anything.
Africa is a difficult place to live compared to the Mediterranean world or the Indian subcontinent. In Africa, there are virulent tropical diseases, dangerous animals, nutrient-poor soils and very little arable land that can be brought under cultivation. Survival becomes priority one.
Despite that, your desire to leave the impression everyone south of lower Nile Valley were living in grass huts is contradicted by the archaeological evidence, from Great Zimbabwe, to Nubia and Kush, to the rock-hewn churches of Ethiopia, to the city states of the Swahili coast.
Iron metallurgy existed in West Africa before it existed in northern Europe.
There is no denying the uniquely monumental achievements of Western civilization.
But I suggest you reach out to other sources of information on subsaharan Africa besides Tarzan movies.

Much like say, the Amazon basin in S. America? There, pre-Columbian, there was a thriving civilization with likely millions of inhabitants. This whole 'lost' civilization is only now coming to light and it appears there were walled (wooden palisades and earthworks) towns and cities all over it with established and organized agriculture. Smallpox wiped it out.
In North America mound builders produced some serious. large cities. But they never went beyond that.
The Maya built a great civilization in the middle of rain forest and swamp. Khmer, Egyptian, and Indus River valley civilizations rose up in hostile environments.
Iron metallurgy rose up first in the Hittite civilization. It was independently discovered in China and India as well. There's no evidence that sub-Saharan civilizations discovered any sort of advanced metallurgy practices on their own.

I do not agree with the woking conditions of these horrable jobs. I do not agree with our current system that promotes illegal people being use for slave labor.
I feed myself by providing solutions to people who need help. Very easy job for someone in my position.
We used to have slaves do this work, now we have immigrants who cant complain do them.
Our nation needs immigration reform. The reason We, the People, aren't seeing it is because TPTB prefer the informal system of indentured servitude because it's more profitable for them.
