Scalise nominated Speaker

I like Scalise but I'm a little concerned about his health. I'm a little disappointed Jim Jordan didn't get it. I wanted to watch Democrat heads exploding. But I'm good with Scalise.

Not fond of Scalise, but Jordan would have been a disaster!

Without McCarthy showing him the ropes, Scalise will also be a disaster, as he hasn't a clue how to run the House.

McCarthy was the only Republican that could have run the house- IF HE ONLY WOULD HAVE.

McCarthy was an avid student of Nancy! At least he learned how to run the House from her.

Scalise deserves it and he'll do a great job... but Jordan would have been awesome...

So you honestly think Scalise wanted this?

Now, he has to deal with the Freedom CaCa-sucks!

He would have never done that, had he not been forced into taking the role!

So I do give him credit for accepting such a challenge!

I see where you're going, TOP.

The good people of Ohio would understandably rather keep their perverts in DC.
As speaker, Shirtsleeves Jimmy would come home less often, right?

You need more like Dennis Kucinich, formerly from the 10th,
and fewer like Jim Jordan, currently from the 4th;
but that's for you folks to work out.:dunno:

Top thinks politics is like an Ohio State Football game.

She is all about YEA us Republicans- FUCK EVERYTHING ELSE INCLUDING THE DEMOCRATS AND THE PEOPLE OF THE NATION!

She is not even a Republican, she is nothing but a TRUMPTARD, all gigly and trying to jump over backwards for Donald Trump!

Yeah, I read it wrong. I think he'll win eventually, the problem now is how many want to vote for McCarthy.
Hard to believe, but there is traction by the mainstream Republicans to put McCarthy back. If Dems get on board as a big 'fuck you' to Gaetz, this might be interesting.

Right. Instead he wouldn't schedule votes that the majority would want. It's stupid to pretend your Ds would elect an R to fill that role when they had a slim majority. I get why republicans won't vote for Hakeem just like I get when they do have a vote and there are the two options that Democrats won't vote for the republicans. What I don't get is your Ds joining with Maga Republicans to oust a speaker who is only up for that vote because he worked with Democrats.

The Democrats voted with those evil "Maga Republicans" to punish the Speaker for working with Democrats. That vote was silly. It won't net them the Speaker role, all it did was ensure that the next Speaker is more likely to not want to work with Democrats as Democrats will just help the crazies "punish" him when they get the chance.
Bogus impeachment inquiry that most Republicans know is bullshit.

I see no way around that, if they want to elect him with only Republican votes.

That requirement by the hard derp right was so they could control McCarthy and make sure he could not make deals with Dems, without consequence. I doubt the hard right will let Scalise do that.
They don't worry about votes. They bring nothing to the floor. It's about ridiculous inquiries in order to steal the news cycle away from trump's legal woes.

I would love that. It would make me laugh a bit.

I would also have to reevaluate what I said earlier. Democrats were willing to work with the "Maga Republicans" to punish the Speaker for working with Democrats. They teamed up with them, voted to punish the Speaker, and their entire membership voted to make sure that the next Speaker would never work with Democrats, their only reward for collaboration is for Dems to team up with "Maga" to make sure that nothing gets done. Hypocrite Democrats will scream about how nobody is reaching across the aisle, right up until they do and at that moment they'll work with MAGA to punish them.

The House is in “recess subject to the call of the chair,” which means that McHenry, the interim speaker, can bring the chamber back into session when Republicans figure out what they intend to do regarding the vote. Other than that, no business is being conducted.

They are outside playing kick ball.
LOL. They want to avoid another shit show on national t.v., so they're flinging poop in private.

What I do know is that the Democrats who say they want compromise and for folks to reach across the aisle, had someone that reached across that aisle testing that water, and at the very first opportunity that they had to show what their real intentions are they voted with the folks they say are "crazy" to punish him for taking that step.
He reached across the aisle, and then went back on his word in order to play both sides.

And that bogus impeachment inquiry is a stain that not only alienated all Dems, it will go down in history as gross incompetence.

I suppose Dems just felt that he couldn't be trusted, and they opted to let the shit show take center stage.

This will all be over in about 1 year.

Another day goes by where the Republican house is taking no action, they can’t even condemn what happened in Israel. They are dysfunctional, MAGA has brought the business to a halt!.
I think they're taking action. They're just doing it in private this time

Bogus impeachment inquiry that most Republicans know is bullshit.

Which will not change other than you will no longer have a Speaker willing to reach across that aisle and an Impeachment Inquiry, the next Speaker will know that even the smallest attempt to make that happen will result in the Democrats suddenly turning into MAGA and voting with them as a block.

Exactly HOW STUPID do you have to be to Fire your House Speaker without any Back-Up Speaker Plan?

This Proves The Modern Republican Party has Zero Clue on how to Govern.
