Sodomy is in the UCMJ. In the early 1980s a Marine officer was being prosecuted for homosexuality under the Article 125:
Sodomy
(a) Any person subject to this chapter who engages in unnatural carnal copulation with another person of the same or opposite sex or with
an animal is guilty of sodomy. Penetration, however slight, is sufficient to complete the offense.
The charges were read then the defense lawyer made a statement like this "Any officer on this court-martial who has had unnatural carnal copulation with their wife or girlfriend should immediately recuse themselves from this case." The case was dropped. After that, homosexual Marines weren't prosecuted for homosexuality under the Sodomy article. Most were just shown the door with an Admin discharge.
Fortunately, history has left you behind in the dust.
The liberal democracies of the world are increasingly extending equal civil rights to all citizens of all sexual orientations and preferences.

15 to 20 years ago, Republicans were scrambling to put gay marriage bans on state ballot initiatives. It was an existential issue for conservatives.
