Russia's economy is equivalent to Texas's. They are not a world power. If they did not have the bomb, they would be nothing. Putin overstepped. There are people talking about demonstrations and others about changing Putin. The people are behind the war because Putin absolutely controls all the media. They are lied to routinely. I think most of the Ukrainian cossack hosts were liquidated, exiled, or disbanded during the regimes of Lenin and Stalin.

To my knowledge, the only active Cossack host which survived through Soviet times are the ones in Russia on the lower Don River. My grandmother comes from an old Don cossack family.
