you gotta wonder....That's what catastrophic coverage is for numb nuts, that's all it's for IE medical emergencies.

It's about the burbs versus the sticks, people. Land mass doesn't vote, people vote. Just look at the Virginia map. It appears all red too, but guess what, the people were blue.
Wrong again bud the whole idea was for people who didn't need that coverage and wouldn't be using it to subsidize the coverage of others. And catastrophic coverage is literally for the scenario you just listed IE medical emergencies.
My daughter works in the industry, I am quite familiar with the junk policies that were sold to people before ACA, there was very limited coverage which people discovered when they made claims against them.you gotta wonder....
you can get YUGE coverage amounts for very low costs..it's why it's called "catastrophic". *duh*My daughter works in the industry, I am quite familiar with the junk policies that were sold to people before ACA, there was very limited coverage which people discovered when they made claims against them.
no one forced you to buy anything idiot racist
you gotta wonder....
insurance companies make money by making sure collectively everyone pays in more than they pay out.

It was catastrophic it didn’t cover a lot of things they claimed they would, that is why they were junk.you can get YUGE coverage amounts for very low costs..it's why it's called "catastrophic". *duh*
The cover the big bills that non-covered person that didn't have any whereby they drove up costs for all.
They are certainly much better then having people pay Obamacare fines-especially now that Obamacare is becoming unaffordable for many
So, what do you think happens if your deductible on a catastrophic policy is $5,000 and your emergency room bill is $4500?you gotta wonder....
I had that coverage for awhile. the policies have written coverage they send you like any other. It was catastrophic it didn’t cover a lot of things they claimed they would, that is why they were junk.
what do you think happens? you owe $4,500.So, what do you think happens if your deductible on a catastrophic policy is $5,000 and your emergency room bill is $4500?
The amount not paid is still the amount not paid and has to be written off by hospitals which leads to higher charges.what do you think happens? you owe $4,500.
suppose you have 25k in ER costs? how do you pay off that without any coverage?

people are more able to pay off $4.5 k.The amount not paid is still the amount not paid and has to be written off by hospitals which leads to higher charges.
ya. people forget the ACA is collapsing because of the high deductiblesIt's not even that it's unaffordable if you're in the right tax bracket, it's that people in those tax brackets can't afford to use it thanks to the outrageous deductibles, so basically we end up with younger poorer people leaning more towards $9500 a year than $43000 a year, subsidizing the coverage of people on the higher side of the tax bracket subsidy cut off point, who can afford to use it.
And don't even get me started about living in a state that didn't expand medicaid, a boat that I was in straight out of college where I didn't make enough to qualify for the ACA but made too much to qualify for Medicaid but still had to pay the individual mandate penalty when I wasn't insured.
Not young people and it is what makes hospital charges go up for the rest of uspeople are more able to pay off $4.5 k.
