Republican PC police...

Thats bullshit, who says its okay for a black guy to be racist about his own community...!

what???? if N bombs are racist why can black people say them then and white people can't?

what type of bubble have you created for yourself out there in Florida? people of whatever color or community can get away with saying things that people outside that color or community might not be able to.

As Mr. C Rock also said, that is one of the few privleges of being black. He then said he would trade with any white guy who was pissed about that. They could drop the N bomb and he could be white. I don't think there are white men here who, all other things being equal would rather be black.

I dont thinkaqnyone should say them..!

I don't think he was saying that you have to talk a certain way to be black; rather, he was saying black people have to talk a certain way to be accepted by the majority-white American electorate.

I don't think he was off-base in his assessment. His use of archaic language was offensive but the more I think about it the "light-skinned" comments bothers me more than the use of "Negro dialect."

How about that any black that was dark skinned, spoke with a hood accent in general conversation couldn't/shouldn't be electable? Is that fair? What about a white guy from Appalachia or University of Oklahoma?

Hilarious!

Bill Clinton was born poor in appalachia. Clinton, LBJ and Harry Truman were all born poor white trash, if you will. And two of them spoke with hillbilly southern accents. Robert Byrd? Jesus, total white trash.

White dudes get a pass on this crap, that minorities, or even women, never would. A black person that was as poorly informed, inarticulate, or simple minded as George Dumbya, or Dan Quayle would never get within 20 light years of the white house or senate.

In other news: hilarious when tons of middle class whites imagine what black people think of Reid's comment. Apparently, the reich wing has given up it's silly quest to equate it to the things Trent Lott said, or the things that Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck say on a daily bases.

To me, what reid said sounded dumb, archaic, and insensitive. But, I don't see an ounce of intentional racism behind it. Hopefully he learned a lesson.

you're full of shit and no one is surprised at your defense of reid...he has a D next to his name

turn on the tv in other parts of the country, they don't hire people with deep accents....see NY for a prime example

and show me one white person elected who talks like a hillbilly or trailer trash

He was?

[ame]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Appalachian_Mountains[/ame]

The range is mostly located in the United States but extends into southeastern Canada, forming a zone from 100 to 300 miles (160 to 480 km) wide, running from the island of Newfoundland 1,500 miles (2,400 km) south-westward to central Alabama in the United States. The system is divided into a series of ranges, with the individual mountains averaging around 3,000 ft (900 m). The highest of the group is Mount Mitchell in North Carolina at 6,684 feet (2,037 m), which is the highest point in the United States east of the Mississippi River.

The term Appalachian refers to several different regions associated with the mountain range. Most broadly, it refers to the entire mountain range with its surrounding hills and the dissected plateau region. However, the term is often used more restrictively to refer to regions in the central and southern Appalachian Mountains, usually including areas in the states of Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia, and North Carolina, as well as sometimes extending as far south as northern Georgia and western South Carolina, as far north as Pennsylvania, and as far west as southern Ohio.

The Ouachita Mountains in Arkansas and Oklahoma were originally part of the Appalachians as well, but were disconnected through geologic history...

Why do they want Reid to resign?

What about what he said was racist?

You must be one dumb mother fucker not to be able to understand this comment from Reid,

Reid believed Barack Obama could win the White House as he was a "light skinned" African American "with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one."

In other words, he did not talk and look like a ni##er, except when he needed to shuck & jive with the coloreds for votes.

He was born in Arkansas you dolt.

His mother was an anesthetist.

Check out that 'poor' kids home... poor little thing... such cramped living quarters.

When his mom returned, she married Roger Clinton... the owner of an auto dealership. OH the HARDSHIP. How could he get by being so poor?

LOL. They just believe whatever they are told.

I mean, I'll bet they still believe that Obama's mom lived in Hawaii for two years with Obama's father, even though college records show that she was in Washington (the state) for those years he talks about, reminiscing about how his father (who was in Hawaii for those two years) left him and his mom...

Its racist, its racist... yet not a single person can explain why...! You freaks keep repieting that its racist and fail to explain what about it is racist, BECAUSE ITS NOT! You go as far as to change his words to make it racist, but what he said is not racist.... You yourself cant even make an argument!
