Remember when Bush was bragging about how his massacre in Iraq prompted Ghadafi to become a friend of the United States?
Bush had nothing to do with any change in Libya's relationship with the world. It was Tony Blair whose initiative, correct at the time but suspect in hind sight, brought the 'beloved' colonel in from the cold.
But I guess we all get used to Uncle Sam claiming false victories.
Carry on chaps.
No I don't. Perhaps you can remind me.Remember when Bush was bragging about how his massacre in Iraq prompted Ghadafi to become a friend of the United States?

Libs blame Bush when they run out of toilet paper. You're going to try and blame Bush's decision to invad Irag on the rebellion going on 10 years later?

Because of American leadership and resolve, the world is changing for the better. Last month, the leader of Libya voluntarily pledged to disclose and dismantle all of his regime's weapons of mass destruction programs, including a uranium enrichment project for nuclear weapons. Colonel Qadhafi correctly judged that his country would be better off, and far more secure, without weapons of mass murder. Nine months of intense negotiations involving the United States and Great Britain succeeded with Libya, while 12 years of diplomacy with Iraq did not. And one reason is clear: For diplomacy to be effective, words must be credible -- and no one can now doubt the word of America.

Hmm... PMP's post pretty much destroys that idea. It is hardly saying that Libya is a "friend" to say they decided to dismantle WMD programs.Just look up his 2004 State of the Union speech.

OK. But you ignore the normalization of diplomatic relations that followed.
And that's what Jarod was referring to?
we have diplomatic relations with many countries that do not count themselves among our "friends"......OK. But you ignore the normalization of diplomatic relations that followed.
Would you hire this guy as your lawyer ?you mean this?....
hardly measures up to Jarod's claim....
he was speaking about dismantling weapons programs, not opening up national elections....let alone "being a friend"......
