Remember when Bush was bragging about how his massacre in Iraq prompted Ghadafi to become a friend of the United States?

Bush had nothing to do with any change in Libya's relationship with the world. It was Tony Blair whose initiative, correct at the time but suspect in hind sight, brought the 'beloved' colonel in from the cold.

But I guess we all get used to Uncle Sam claiming false victories.

Carry on chaps.

BDS is very strong with this one. It must suck for you to know that the idiot in chief has no idea on what to do in Libya.

no.....I do recall something about a cruise missile hitting the presidential palace that altered Ghadafi's outlook on life....I believe Reagan was president at the time....

you mean this?....
Because of American leadership and resolve, the world is changing for the better. Last month, the leader of Libya voluntarily pledged to disclose and dismantle all of his regime's weapons of mass destruction programs, including a uranium enrichment project for nuclear weapons. Colonel Qadhafi correctly judged that his country would be better off, and far more secure, without weapons of mass murder. Nine months of intense negotiations involving the United States and Great Britain succeeded with Libya, while 12 years of diplomacy with Iraq did not. And one reason is clear: For diplomacy to be effective, words must be credible -- and no one can now doubt the word of America.

hardly measures up to Jarod's claim....

he was speaking about dismantling weapons programs, not opening up national elections....let alone "being a friend"......
