Record fundraising by a nuclear fusion start-up

So...(according to my computations) they were able to produce enough electricity to power the average, American home for 97.2 seconds.

Not impressed.

Nuclear fusion has been promised for decades.

And after ALL that time...they can only power one, average home for just over one and a half minutes?

Nope...not impressed.

The phantom porridge pisser strikes again!!

The future is solar battery technology. Without it the world is doomed to have to listen to the pseudo-scientific piffle of maggot and his capitalist cronies.

Forget investing in anything other than battery tech- and you'd better hurry the fuck up.

Yet you wonder why people like myself, with an actual technical background, think you're a total fucking moron.

You've had said the same about the Wright Brothers

Somehow I doubt two bicycle repair men will make a major breakthrough in nuclear fusion. It is another order of problem.

Or at least we can hope not. Think about it for a moment. Fusion is the power for a hydrogen bomb. If it is so simple that two bicycle repair men can do it, then any terrorist can do it. It would be the end of humanity.

this is the future for electrical power generation.

You know the old saying in nuclear fusion: fusion is the energy of the future, and always will be. Also acceptable is fusion is 30 years away, and always will be.

I am a strong supporter of fusion, but it has been a much longer road over the last 70 years than anyone thought.

But you don't , maggot. You're simply looking to defend a lifetime of going in the wrong direction.

Haw, haw.............................haw.

Again- no battery solution- no civilisation. Now get out of the fucking way, you nuclear numpty.

Yea, sure. Right now, lithium ion batteries go for about $20,000 per KWH. Let's say that can be cut in half. That means a single megawatt hour of installed battery would cost $10 million dollars not including installation, etc. Let's say $11,000,000 with everything. Now, take a middling solar array that produces say 100 MW and you want storage for say 8 hours of run time. That's $8.8 billion in batteries for that one small solar array to have 8 hours of battery power.

It isn't happening. There isn't enough raw material on the planet and the cost of manufacture and installation exceeds the entire yearly GDP of the planet.

That's why we need to go to fission in the interim, because wind and solar are total losers.

It's problem to be solved, isn't it- and it looks like you've got nothing to contribute.

You're wrong. We can solve the problem today by adopting fission power (nuclear power) and using natural gas for spot power production. Not only is that far more environmentally friendly than wind and solar, it's much cheaper.
