REAL-WORLD TEST HAS TESLA SEMI SILENCING CRITICS

And once again, as Terry does with every new evolving tech, he FREEZES it at where it is today, to criticize it.

I repeat, there is no person more stupid on technology and how it evolves than Terry on this forum.

This article is about how far the Tesla truck has come from a zero starting point a few years back and this advancement is amazing. A successful fleet of such trucks would be able to utilize roads for the most dangerous, over night driving without having drivers fall asleep. They will also be far less accident prone.

But here again is Terry screaming at eh beginnings of the internet roll out that it will never work as the copper cables and AOL online software to access it is just not appealing to enough people and is too slow.

Ignoring trucking laws won't help you.
The internet existed long before AOL's idiocy. It is not a copper cable or any other type of cable.

How much gasoline do they need to service that same amount trucks?
Almost none. Trucks do not generally run on gasoline.
Charging a large number of EV Trucks, each in the yard in their own parking spot, rather then having them line up for a limited number of gas pumps, will be far more convenient.
Not enough current available, and truckers have loads to deliver.
In some very busy truck stops, trucks can line up for well over an hour to get to gasoline pump,
BULLSHIT.
then they go park and go in to take a break, get food, and shower and clean up.
They generally don't. They need to get back on the road. They are not paid to loaf around.
IN an EV yard the place you park your Truck is the place you charge it.
Not enough current available, and trucks need to get back out on the road as soon as possible.
So instead of wasting time waiting for fuel (gas) in a line,
They don't.
and then going to park and go in after,
They generally don't.
you are using the down time of eating, etc, while ALSO getting your fuel (charging).
Not enough current, and truckers need to get back out on the road as soon as possible.

More stupidity by Terry.

"NEVER"... Terry says as he caps the development of the tech at todays levels.

it absolutely is predictable that as the Tech improves (battery life and charging times) that these vehicles will be able to exceed even what tandom drivers could achieve, as these teams still need down time to eat, to clean up and to clear their heads at truck stops. Humans are not robots.

It is YOU that is being the Luddite here. Li-ion batteries were developed in the 80's. Today's internal combustion engines have advanced a LONG way since then!
Li-ion batteries still have the same joules per mole as always. This is set by the chemistry. It is physics. It doesn't and cannot change. The ONLY way to increase range is to build a bigger (and heavier) battery pack.
So...LESS useful payload for that truck.

Such idiocy.

Oh yes you guys have identified a unique EV risk.

this is correct.

But as this tech improves you will see the Trucking industry and those who service it quickly adapt, as truck drivers are very much the limiting factors on trucking companies. the cost, the accidents, the turn over. Trucking companies will jump at this.

Guess what? They aren't.

The far right has to keep parroting the right wing mantra.

EVs bad. Gas good.

Regardless of the facts and technology.

It's what they're programmed to do. Just look at the way they get all butthurt Everytime we mention the virtues of EVs.

YOU are denying advances in technology. You want to stick with battery technology that is 35 years old, ignoring the advances in internal combustion engines in that time.
There are few 'virtues' of EVs.

Clearly you do not understand the limitations of battery technology. You cannot get around the physics and chemistry of batteries.

I've noticed this about the Church of the EV. They really think there is a free lunch. They really think energy comes out of nowhere.
They ignore the current requirements. They ignore the wasted energy to deliver that current. They ignore the power plant that produces that current and the coal or natural gas it's probably using to do it.
They think piddle power like wind and solar will produce sufficient current!

Wrong. EV's bad to use your terminology. Gas vehicles less bad. Battery technology has serious limitations on it no matter what incremental improvements may be made to it. And, that's all new battery technology is, incremental improvements. There isn't going to be some sudden seismic shift in battery technology because you can't get around physics and chemistry.

Why bother with EV's at all? What reason(s) are they being pushed out so hard by primarily the radical Left?

If the answer to that is "Gorebal Warming" then the push to replace ICE vehicles with EVs at any cost is nothing but radical Leftist insanity on display.

I see you recognize that the Church of the EV stems directly from the Church of Global Warming, which routinely denies physics.
