In fact, the National Anthem became widely played at baseball games during WWII, and it was often played at other games for a century.

The NFL followed suit more recently. In Canada, the NHL requires that the Canadian and American anthems be played before an international match.

We went decades without selling hot dogs at sporting events, too. Does that mean they should no longer be available?
