Raising The Debt Ceiling

Lets not forget that obama has never had a budget since being in office and we have gone over 3 trillion in debt under his short term.

Obama is worse than Jimmy Carter.

President Obama has never had a budget? It is yet to be seen if President Obama is worse than Carter.

I think Obama submitted a budget.

It was so bad that the dems voted against it.

The economic conditions are not the same. How can you say President Obama did not flip flop?

His comment was not tied to the economic conditions in 2006. Increasing America's debt weakens us domestically and internationally. He did not say it was because our economic conditions are good right now, he said it as a statement of fact for all time. He has increased our debt and wants to increase it further, weakening us domestically and internationally and he is shifting the burden of bad choices onto the backs of our children. As President Obama said, Americans deserve better.

Of course it was tied to the time it was spoken. Bush II was spending like a drunken democrat. There was (at the time) no financial crisis, just a voluntary war and tax breaks for the rich that his own cabinet told him were not affordable (Cheney shot them down).

Un-employment was reasonable, the economy was expanding. The only reason to raise the debt ceiling at that time, was to fund voluntary wars and tax cuts.

"Of course"? Then Senator Obama did not say his comments were time specific. You are making things up. I will say again and maybe you could actually address it.

It is relevant to the discussion at hand though. So, again, for the third time, How many times did Bush II raise the debt ceiling?

It is not relevant to President Obama's comment. I have created a thread about your topic. It would be appreciated if you could take this different matter and talk about it there. Thank you.

What do democrats think of President Obama's flip flop on this?

First of all it isn't a flip flop. Those were Obama's remarks back in 2006. Different time/different place.

When a government states it has money for war (Rumsfeld's remarks on the Iraq war, "It was an option we could afford") and can afford to cut taxes (Bush's tax cuts) and then asks to borrow money something is sadly wrong. That was the reality in 2006. And let's not forget Bush's warmongering talk concerning Syria and North Korea and all the "evildoers". The last thing any sensible person would want to do it give those lunatics more money!

As I mentioned in another thread the Repubs led a concerted effort to "bankrupt" the government, to deplete any and all monies in the hope of destroying any and all social programs by increasing spending, cutting taxes and borrowing. It was their "final" solution to current programs and any future programs; no money. They wouldn't need any counter argument to any program. Simply state, "No money", just like they tried with ObamaCare but it didn't work then and it's not going to work this time.

Obama has realized there never will be a "good time" to strengthen and implement social programs. The money will be spent on other things and, as we've seen, taxes will be cut. The government can't save (prepare itself financially) when one party is against the reasons for the savings.

However, the American people are not willing to give up the programs they have now and the same thing will happen with ObamaCare. Once the American people experience government "influenced" medical care they will not give it up just as no other country in the world has reverted to the "pay or suffer" system.

So, to sum up, it isn't a flip flop. It's the only way to progress.

Do you understand that a discussion is a series of intersepting topics, not a single straight line?

There is no way to discuss Obama's comment on the debt ceiling in 2006 without involving president bush, the president at the time.

So, for the fifth (and last) time, how many times did Bush II raise the debt ceiling?

If you don't or can't answer, your prove \(|V|)/ correct, you are a troll, and will be added to the other known trolls on the ignore list.

Are you for real? You know this how? You are Obama, and you remember exactly what you were thinking 5 years ago, when you made an infallible statement to the ages?

"a statement of fact for all time". This is the essence of rightwing concrete thinking. Times change moron. There is no constant other than change.

How about from the 'fair and balanced' center of the political spectrum....Obama is a hypocrite of the first order....and that undeniable fact is not for debate.....

Does anybody remember that the republicans are supposed to be on the "back of the bus"?

Still trying to defend Obama

"Obama good,,,, everything else bad"

I can just see you driving down the road with your "Obama 2008" bumper sticker.

Getting all the looks.

Like, "wow,, there's a really smart guy".

Or, "WOW, this guy knows something and is going places".

Yes, I bet you're the life of the PARTY with most everybody you meet. Especially the girls. Who you seem to have a lot of time for. I mean, "we don't see enough of you here.

But when we do,,,, WOW,,,, A real winner and all.

A real man. A mans man.

As I have repeatedly said, I voted for Billary.

The rest of your post, pretty acurate, especially the girls.

Being a fulltime artist-blacksmith, the man's man thing is automatic.
