The price will certainly adjust based on other factors, but a wage increase will increase the costs even further than if you did not have the wage increase. That is basic.
Except you didn't challenge his comment. You recreated it into a straw man.
You asked if increasing it would increase the cost of living, and I answered. Then I asked you to explain how it wouldn't, by telling me where the money for the increase would come... you respond with an irrelevant fact about the cost of living increasing anyway. Why are you running from the point of the argument? Why aren't you answering the question?
LMAO... if you RAISE WAGES, the cost of living increases even more than it would have without the wage increase.
Then why aren't Big Mac's $10?
McDonald's has gone through SEVERAL government mandated minimum wage increases through the years, yet the big Mac is still less than $2.
wow...you are truly ignorant. every single time MW increases, so do prices. that is not to say that prices do not increase without a MW increase, it is simply pointing the the FACT that every single time MW increases, so do basic necessity prices.
Then all you've shown is that correlation doesn't imply causation.
how so? i have personally witnessed every single price hike ever single time MW goes up. and so have you. you just want to bury your head in the sand.

Really? Funny that I have never had an employer offer me a raise because minimum wage increased. What a colosal crock of bullshit.
That's such a blanket statement. What prices went up, food, clothing, cars, appliances, electronics? Every item in every category? How can I even research on such a vague claim?

I think most decent companies give pay increases to their unskilled labor, whenever the minimum wage is increased. It makes sense, because if they didn't, they would eventually be paying minimum wage, and they want to pay slightly better, to attract better employees.
You see.... with minimum wage employees, you can't expect too much. They arrive late or call in sick... they don't want to wear a tie or smile at the customers... things that a business might really want them to do in the job, so the business pays a little more than minimum wage, because they expect more. Whenever the minimum wage increases, those jobs increase their pay rates as well. Once we get into the mid to upper level management positions, the pay increase is less frequent, because these people are already making much more, and it's insignificant. However, some companies will carry this all the way up, and everyone gets a pay increase. You've just bumped everything up a notch... things cost a few pennies more... people make a few pennies more... it hasn't changed anything or fixed any problem.
Bullshit.

Because business does not hire people based on profits.
Some companies do set records with profits every year. Some companies go bankrupt, every year.
We actually WANT companies to set record profits, it means people are spending money and paying sales taxes. If they are spending money, it is most likely because they have money, because they have a thing called a job, and a source of income. If they have a source of income, they probably pay income taxes. So, it is a GOOD thing when corporations are setting record profits, I wish they ALL could set record profits every day!

Wow...What in the world has made you such a judgemental, bigoted and hateful person, Dicksee? You have such a pitiful low regard for those lesser than what you perceive yourself to be. What a pig!
So why do we give these businesses tax credits, subsidies and other incentives? Seems like companies are doing hunky dory all on their own.
I know someone who started working for a company over two years ago. At that time, minimum wage was, I believe $7.50 per hour. Today he makes $7.75 per hour.
New hires at the same company now start off at $8.00 per hour. He did not receive a commensurate raise when they were hired and won't so the argument that all employees get a raise along with a minimum wage increase is moot.
Can someone answer this question? With some companies setting record profits, why aren't they hiring more people?
Another question. How high do prices go up when middle and executive level employees get a raise?
LMAO... yeah, it has nothing to do with the higher costs of wages. Nothing.
You need a new calculator. Your math is way off.A Big Mac sold for .49 cents in 1968 and the minimum wage was $1.60 @ hr.
Now a Big Mac sells for $3.29 and the minimum wage is $7.25 @ hr.
What this means that the minimum wage increase of 4.53% caused the Big Mac cost to increase by 6.71%.
