Good question Grind. IMO in every state the Democrats should immediately pass laws giving all present the right to vote. It's time to end the divide.

Whilst the major media outlets have been writing about the lack of student knowing 'cursive writing' usage.

And then a retiree that is manning the polling stations making $75 for a 12 hour stint is made to decipher folks printing skills
 
No sweetie, signatures are sufficient. However if there is an issue that an election judge can't handle, the person is given a provisional ballot.

New legislation is being pushed that would give illegal aliens the right to vote in New York City’s elections.

The proposal — which is winning support from the city’s black and Hispanic activists — was recently discussed at a Black and Latino Legislative Caucus event in Albany.

“We want to expand the right to vote for everybody, not suppress the vote. What a radical idea,” said Bertha Lewis, head of the Black Institute, which is part of a coalition of immigration-rights groups campaigning for the bill. She said it is expected to be introduced this spring.

There are an estimated 1.3 million non-citizen residents in the city, at least 500,000 of whom are undocumented. Neither documented green-card holders nor the illegal aliens are allowed to vote.

Queens Councilman Dan Dromm submitted legislation several years ago to extend voting rights to “lawful residents” — non-citizens with green cards. Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito was a co-sponsor of the bill. She sees it as an extension of Mayor de Blasio’s Municipal ID card offered to all residents — including those who are undocumented.

Conservative Mike Long panned the idea, saying liberals may be pushing non-citizen voting to boost DEMOCRAT Party enrollment and “buy votes.”

“This is outrageous.  American Citizens have the right to determine the destiny of towns, villages, cities, states and the country,” Long said.

I feel many liberals secretly believe illegals should have the right to vote, but liberals wont say that outloud as they know they'll be overplaying their hand right now. Maryland officials are weighing a plan that would give undocumented immigrants a right to vote in elections, a long-standing practice elsewhere in the state.

Prince George’s County, home of the University of Maryland, is considering a measure to let non-citizens cast ballots in a movement that has had more success in Maryland than anywhere else in the United States.
