Pruitt insists that the EPA only uses data that is public

Judith Curry, who is an eminent climatologist, has been advocating for precisely this for quite a while.

This Judith Curry?

Fossil Fuel Funding
When she was questioned about potential conflicts of interest, this was her response to the Scientific American: [5]

“I do receive some funding from the fossil fuel industry. My company…does [short-term] hurricane forecasting…for an oil company, since 2007. During this period I have been both a strong advocate for the IPCC, and more recently a critic of the IPCC, there is no correlation of this funding with my public statements.”

Holy shit, you people are so effing predictable. Rana used to quote DeSmogBlog until I pointed out that it was started by a financial conman and is nothing more than a PR agency dedicated to disseminating bullshit propaganda. Seriously, don't bring a knife to a gunfight, stick to the Middle East!!

I had never heard of desmogblog.....

Judith Curry was a witness in a house committee hearing titled “Climate Science: Assumptions, Policy Implications, and the Scientific Method” chaired by Lamar Smith. The hearing also featuring testimony from John Christy, Michael Mann, and Roger Pielke, Jr. DeSmog reported that the House Committee on Science, Space and Technology hearings “have officially turned into theater to stage climate science denial,” noting that Michael Mann was the only witness on the committee to represent the 97% consensus view that humans cause climate change. That's painfully obvious, Judith Curry is a highly respected climatologist, you should go away and bone up about her before pontificating. You would do well to watch her in action speaking before the Senate Commerce Committee.

Wonder why she quit Ga Tech?

Wonder why you couldn't find this for yourself?

Here is her blog, try reading it and finding out first hand, rather than via crap attack dog websites like DeSmogBlog and Skeptical Science, what she is all about. People on the left, especially women, lament the dearth of women in STEMs, here is somebody that operates at the highest level yet is denigrated for daring to go against the 'consensus'.

Over to the dark side
Curry's saga began with a Science paper she co-authored in 2005, which linked an increase in powerful tropical cyclones to global warming. It earned her scathing attacks on skeptical climate blogs.

They claimed there were serious problems with the hurricane statistics the paper relied on, particularly from before the 1970s, and that she and her co-authors had failed to take natural variability sufficiently into account. "We were generally aware of these problems when we wrote the paper," Curry says, "but the critics argued that these issues were much more significant than we had acknowledged."

Wow, so you've gone all the way back to 2005 in an desperate attempt to salvage some credibility. Did you read that Nature article in its entirety or just the bit you thought helped your case?

Scott Pruitt Is Gutting the EPA Because He Thinks It’s God’s Plan

Scott Pruitt may be at the center of another Trump administration flight scandal over the skyrocketing costs of his first-class flights, but recently he's been more ... Pruitt has alluded to his religion in EPA speeches and interviews before, but in an interview last week with the conservative Christian Broadcasting ...

Fine with me. As long as he reins it in. And I'm an atheist.

Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt dismissed evolution as an unproven theory, lamented that “minority religions” were pushing Christianity out of “the public square” and advocated amending the Constitution to ban abortion, prohibit same-sex marriage and protect the Pledge of ...

BTW, studies indicate there are fewer abortions when they are legal.
What's that got to do with EPA SWAT teams used to check water reg. compliance or the illegal WOTUS rule?

I think its important to reduce pollution of all kinds as much as possible.. Look at the difference in air quality in LA in the past 30 years. What I don't understand is why conservatives don't want to conserve our planet.
