prospect of impeachment ?????? Really ?

Uh, no bravs. I was being sarcastic. I argued with Yurt's premise that they're the same situation for about 3 days, so I was making fun of him.

Sorry about that; you're a little slow on the uptake, though, as you were chiming in on those threads, as well. Under no circumstances whatsoever do I think Iraq & Libya are "identical," or even similar in any way....

You mean you didn't get Board Nazi Yurt's declaration that any post attempting humor must include at least one smiley to denote it's "humorlishesness"?

He spat out one of his patented angry little tantrums where he accused me of not posting a smiley when I made a joke and how my lack of a smiley confused him.

Don't violate his rules or else the BoardNazi Yurt is gonna getcha!

Read the news much?

"President Obama's approval of an intervention in Libya has also skipped the Congress.

Was this necessary? Of course not. Obama could have consulted Congress; indeed, if the issue was pressing, he could have asked that the House and Senate be called into session over the weekend. Had the president gone to the Congress, it is doubtful that he would have met with opposition."

http://www.npr.org/2011/03/21/134730963/the-nation-in-libya-us-forgot-about-congress

Ummm yeah, I read the news...and I also ask questions. AGAIN- the requirements of the WPA with regards to "consulting congress" are WIDE OPEN as to exactly what that "could" mean. According to Obama he DID consult congress- DO YOU HAVE PROOF that he is lying???

i'm not sure where i stand on the issue because i agree the president should have broad war powers to PROTECT this country from harm. that said, it is debatable that iraq or libya posed an imminent threat to our safety. libya being less of a threat than iraq. i don't understand how liberals can support our air invasion of libya, but be against the boots on the ground invasion of iraq.

it is debatable that iraq or libya posed an imminent threat to our safety.
AND
libya being less of a threat than iraq
AND
i don't understand how liberals can support our air invasion of libya, "

While you clearly say
" Since Iraq & Libya are identical situations" and wonder about ME (Bravo) and what my views are....

Thats conclusive proof you are a liar......and a pathetic one at that...

I disagree wholeheartedly. Since this situation w/ Libya started, Yurt has been calling libbies out for their hypocrisy for supporting Libya but not Iraq. Just on its face, that implies the situations are, if not identical, VERY similar. But he expounded on that, and even argued that this is an invasion on par w/ the invasion of Iraq, going so far as to ludicrously tapdance his way through some explanation on how an "invasion of airspace" is just like any other invasion.

So, you're not correct. I appreciate your need to chime in when you barely know anything once again, but it is what it is. You're an extremely partisan fellow, so your responses are not surprising...

You can disagree all you want...the proof is "written in the posts in clear and plain English"...no need to rely on what you think is implied...."its in plain English"

And the issue is your lying ...not in what Yurt thinks or you think he thinks...

Your own words need no interpretation...nice tap dance lad, but you're caught in your own posts....you are a liar....time to man up and move on....:palm:

Man up to what? Your idiocy is somewhat relentless. Again, you were on the threads where I was arguing it w/ Yurt; not only do I not think Libya & Iraq are identical; I think they're not comparable at all.

I can see the furrowed brow & lack of comprehension, but there isn't much I can do about. You're an old guy - you ain't getting those brain cells back....

You really shouldn't try to jump in where you have absolutely no clue what's going on....

Let's see- So far Obama has claimed he consulted with members of congress- You state that you cannot dispove that claim- and now you post a link where House leader Boehner says the president needs to "consult more with congress" not that he has not consulted at all...

From your link:

"House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio), along with other top Republicans, are warning President Obama to consult more with Congress before stepping up military action in Libya."

For the most part, members of Congress are muttering about they should have been consulted"

How about that? Bravo can obviously READ ONCELER'S MIND!

How else could he possibly purport to tell Onceler what he REALLY MEANT to say?

Yet another typical Rightie who thinks he can channel the Amazing Kreskin to tell us Liberals what we REALLY meant...

How's that special power workin out for ya so far?

Jesus GOD you morons will say or go to ANY lengths to try and spread horseshit about Liberals...and frankly, it's just sad!

It is obvious that Obama did not have a formal meeting with congress- but as I noted previously the languge used in the WPA is quite general with regards to what that consulting MUST be. Mutterings aside-Obama "claims" he consulted with members of congress-Your link to Boehner's statement was that he wants Obama to consult "more"... Now since you admit you are in no position to "prove" Obama is lying...how about we just concede that Obama certainly has not lived up to the spirit of the WPA and call it good?
