I said that in 2016. I thought there was simply no way a guy like that could win, even against a weak candidate like Clinton.

The polls now are stunning to me. And I'm not one to dismiss polls when they don't reflect my POV. Polls are usually accurate. After everything Trump has done - he still has many millions who will vote for him. And he can beat Biden.

I think a win by either of those men would be bad for the country. I'm very concerned about the potential for violence. It feels like 1/6 was just a small taste of what we might see. Close to half the country won't accept either result.

I'm strongly considering leaving the country. People always say that about elections, but things could really go south in a year.

My two cents. The media and pollsters are making a false assumption. They are presuming that this is a normal Presidential election cycle. They are presuming that all the rules and all the history are applicable in this election. They are not. A couple of points. First, there are many voters that view Donald Trump as an existential threat the the country. As more and more comes up about what Trump has done and what he is planning, those numbers will grow. Add to that the fact that Trump is almost certain to have been convicted of a felony for his actions WHILE IN OFFICE. For those people, and I am included in that number, this election has nothing to do with Joe Biden. Next, there is an issue that is clearly a huge winner for Democrats. That issue is abortion. By putting the abortion question on the ballot of as many states as possible, you will see greater Democratic turnout in those states. There is a petition to put this question on the Florida ballot, and DeSantis was nice enough to sign a six week ban. But that's only one of the issues that heavily favor Democrats. People are sick and tired of their kids getting shot in schools. They are sick and tired seeing Voting Rights diminished. They are sick and tired of the politics of hate. They are sick and tired of seeing books banned in schools. They are sick and tired of the clown show that is the GOP House Caucus. Hell, they can just play Chip Roy on an endless loop demanding to know ONE THING that his caucus has passed in the House. Thanks for the free commercial Chip. And they will not abide a Speaker of the house that wants to strip gays of the right to marriage, and wants to see sodomy laws brought back.
Lastly, the economy is in the best shape it has been in this century. And eventually, people will figure that out. Dems need to message better, but I think ultiimately they will. We have seen Democrats overperform in election after election after election.

I believe that 2024 will be a blue wave unlike anything ever seen. State and local elections are what will drive the results, and when push comes to shove, Trump will be soundly defeated by people who are sick of the BS.

If I'm wrong, I will be living somewhere else. I'd prefer the idiots on this board not be able to give out information on me, because if Trump is elected, I will be considered an enemy of the state. I'll wage my war from somewhere else.

As for the violence, it WILL happen, there is nothing that can be done to stop it. But most Trump supporters are all talk and no action, The day after Biden is declared the winner, most of them will shut the fuck up, get in their cars, and go to their shitty jobs. and if Trump is elected, he will use the military against the massive protests that will occur, and I suspect that will be a bridge too far, even for Republicans. American citizens dying at the hands of our own military will not abide. If it does abide, if it is allowed by the Congress and the Courts, then this country isn't a place I want to be.

IMHO, jBiden has vastly exceeded expectations on almost every single front. I have absolutely no reservations about voting for him for a second term.
