Obama has his own problems, I just don't think it is fair to give him blame for the failed Bush administration policies, yes, he has continued some of the bad policy, and he has made some of his own, but I think you have to separate what is his and what he inherited.

Bush "did everything by the book." "Finally put teeth in the UN resolutions." "He didn't get Congress to respond to his warnings."

You & bravo are pathetic. Bush rushed this country into an unnecessary war that cost trillions, killed thousands and displaced millions. Oh - and did I mention that there were no WMD's, and that he made false promises to Congress, and lied to the American public to do so? He completely neglected the economy because he was so focused on this useless war. If he knew a crash was coming, he would have done more than "warn Congress." Where was the leadership?

Give me a break. Bush was one of our worst Presidents - Harding II, except with a stupid, destructive war on his resume, as well. The Bush apologism from idiots like you & bravo is sickening. You're both hacks, and idiots, and should be embarassed.

I told you, hack - I'm not voting for him. Bravo's post was about Bush, though - and you defended him. If you don't want to talk about Bush, don't defend him when he's being discussed. And it's a political message board, so he will be discussed.

President Obama has shelled out more in federal spending than the five presidents that came before him.


A new chart by the Comeback America Initiative (CAI), a non-partisan group dedicated to promoting fiscal responsibility by policymakers, shows federal spending by president as a percentage of GDP, and it doesn't reflect well on Obama.


"There has been a dramatic increase in spending under the Obama administration," David Walker, Founder and CEO of CAI, told Whispers. "Most of it is attributable to year one of his presidency and the stimulus... but President Obama has continued to take spending to a new level."


Federal spending was close to 20 percent under the Carter administration, dropped to 18 percent under Clinton, and is currently at an incredible 24 percent of GDP. According to the Congressional Budget Office, federal spending may hover around 22 percent for the next decade.


Federal spending is also higher this year than any year since 1949. The last time spending was higher—in 1946, it was 24.8—the country was just coming down from the exorbitant rates of spending during World War II.


GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney has said he would cut federal spending down to just 17 percent of GDP.


President Obama is facing some heat over the economy Friday after a depressing job report showed the jobless rate climbed to 8.2 percent in May.

LOL. He spends more than Bush by a bunch, but it's "growing slow"... That makes him fiscally conservative even though he said 400 Billion in overspending was irresponsible during Bush's terms...

Gawd. You have to believe that most people are too stupid to understand that 1.3 Trillion per year is more overspending than 400 Billion per year to believe this nonsense.

Let's give it an analogy.

I make $10 per day on my lemonade stand, I'm insane and want to lose lots of money so I spend $14 to get my supplies, but a new guy is about ready to buy my lemonade stand when we have a huge freeze in Lemonlandia, USA where I buy my lemons and I have to spend $23 that day... The next guy takes over, and spends $23.50 per day for lemonade supplies, still making just $10 per day, and tells you he is more "fiscally conservative" because his rate of increase is less than mine...

The numbers you use were wrong the last time and are still wrong, Damo. Bush's final year deficit was $1.2 trillion, not $400 billion.

And the analogy is just plain asinine. Running a government isn't the same thing as running a business.
