The U.S. Postal Service is experiencing days-long backlogs of mail across the country after a top Trump donor running the agency put in place new procedures described as cost-cutting efforts, alarming postal workers who warn that the policies could undermine their ability to deliver ballots on time for the November election.

As President Trump ramps up his unfounded attacks on mail balloting as being susceptible to widespread fraud, postal employees and union officials say the changes implemented by Trump fundraiser-turned-postmaster general Louis DeJoy are contributing to a growing perception that mail delays are the result of a political effort to undermine absentee voting.

Nah, it's mostly just bureaucratic and worker incompetence by a socialist-like run corporation. Nothing new there.

WASHINGTON (AP) — A shift to mail voting is increasing the chances that Americans will not know the winner of November’s presidential race on election night. But that doesn’t mean the results will be flawed or fraudulent, as President Donald Trump suggested on Thursday.

Trump, seeking to already undermine the results of an election he could lose, demanded that the winner of the Nov. 3 contest be known that night.

”I don’t want to be waiting around for weeks and months and literally, potentially if you really did it right, years, because you’ll never know,” Trump told reporters.

The president has repeatedly raised unsubstantiated fears of fraud involving mail-in voting, which is expected to be more widely used in the November election out of concern for safety given the COVID-19 election. On Thursday, as national and battleground state polls show Trump in political peril in his race against Democrat Joe Biden, he went even further, floating the idea of delaying the election until it could be conducted in person.

Exclusive: Republicans, Democrats agree on one thing: Doubt about fair election

(Reuters) - Americans across the political spectrum have widespread concerns that November’s U.S. election will be marred by fraud, interference or efforts to suppress the vote, according to a new Reuters/Ipsos poll released on Friday.

The poll found 74% of registered voters were concerned about “organized voter fraud by political actors hoping to sway the results of the elections,” including seven of 10 Democrats and eight of 10 Republicans.

About 73% of registered voters also said they were concerned about “voter suppression,” including eight of 10 Democrats and six of 10 Republicans.

It is caused by Trump's appointee who has no skills and knowledge for the office. His job is to sabotage the post office from the inside as so many Trump appointees are charged with doing. He stopped overtime during a pandemic . That means the people covering for the ill carriers could not do it. He is trying to make the post office look bad so corporations can loot us in the future.

Like Sec. of Education, DeVos. Always about sabotaging the institution you're supposed to be advancing.

Wrong, it is being done intentionally by those trump appointees who run the service. Need proof?

No, its being done by the incompetent employees of the USPS just like they do every day and, of course, the sheer volume of mail handled means some of it gets mishandled.

Yes. According to T.A. Gardner, employing people at Post Office is socialism...whatever that means.

What defines Socialism as an economic system? In a nutshell, government ownership of the means of production. The USPS is for all intents a government owned and operated corporation. That makes it Socialist by definition.

I never read wiki. It's just a massive opinion blog.

By your definition, the Department of Defense is the biggest socialist organization in the world.

Nice ad hominem and red herring response. The DoD is in essence a Socialist organization. The government controls it and decides on the products and services it delivers.
