Possible Identity Of Ashli Babbitt Killer As Lt. Mike Byrd

If it was your 110 lb unarmed daughter that climb through a broken out window. Would you have preferred that she be arrested and cited for trespassing or be shot and killed?

The protesters at Portland blocked the exits to the courthouse and set it on fire knowing there were agents that we inside.

Look, I thought the shooter was a bit over-the-top and went beyond-the-pale for shooting Ashli in the neck for heaven's sake!

He would have been smarter to shoot her right square in her PROTECTIVE VEST. That would have served the same purpose and would not have killed her!

I would have- if it were me.

Vest? You have proof she was wearing a vest?

He issued no such warning. Yes she trespassed into the capital. Trespassing is not a capital offense. The cop panicked. It was a bad shooting.

Congratulations on your argument. So if anyone breaks a window and tries to enter your house you are arguing that to shoot them is murder. Is that really the stance you want to take?

The officer has a responsibility to defend the Capitol which is our house. Someone broke a window and was in the process of entering. Either he has a right to shoot an intruder or no one has a right to shoot an intruder in their own home unless the intruder clearly has a weapon. Which is your true position? Can someone shoot an intruder or not?

Police have a different standard than a private home owner does. But know I would not shoot them without warning like he shot Babbitt. In fact if you were unarmed and a 110 lb woman I would not shoot you at all.

If Ashili was your daughter would you have preferred she be shot or arrested?

If the home intruder has a weapon shoot him, if he (or a in this case a tiny unarmed woman) does not have a weapon detain them and send them to jail.

Gee any you guys say the conservatives are the trigger happy ones.

How would you know she was unarmed in the heat of the moment?

I told you to ask her grandfather what he thinks of her support for Trump.

Yeah invite her in your kitchen for a coffee and a chat. Then ask her what her intention is.

Are you suggesting Babbitt's murder could not see that she was not armed. All he had to do is the same things cops do every day. "Show Me Your Hands" Babbitt's hands were on the window frame when she was shot.

Simple, hold the gun on them and ask what their intentions are. I have always said I would not shoot you over possessions if you are going to hurt me or my family I may shoot you . Personally I'm not afraid of a 110lb woman.

I told you he panicked. If he had come out from his hiding spot and confronted Babbitt with his weapon the crowd would have backed off as they were beginning to do the moment they saw his weapon. There were other armed officers on the other side of the door and they did not shoot anyone. He shot because he panicked and overreacted.

Let's say he panicked and overreacted. Whose fault was that?

His and who ever trained him. He is a idiot who left his loaded service weapon in the visitors bathroom. Hardly something a well trained officer would do. He basically armed every visitor to the Capital building that day.

The police have a different standard in that they can shoot people that are threatening others even when not in a building. The threat doesn't even have to be a visible weapon as we know full well.

As to detaining a person when there are several hundred others there including people beating on the door and breaking the glass, that would seem a little ridiculous since attempting to detain one would let the others attack people working in the Capitol. Thanks for showing us your standards are bull shit but we already knew that. It's as if you seem to think Ashli Babbit was the only person in the Capitol illegally.

He panicked. OK. Thanks for telling us he thought she was enough of a threat that he panicked. Now can you prove he didn't think she was a threat. The standard for police shootings is as long as the perceive a imminent threat then the shooting is valid.

Nope. Do you approach an armed cop with his gun drawn at you?

He was hidden in a doorway Ashli was going away from him at a 90 degree angle. She most likely never saw him. He should have stood in front of her and told her to put her hands on her head.

The crowd would have stopped when they saw the gun drawn on her. They were stopping before he shot her. She probably never knew what hit her.

Even if he left is weapon in a bathroom 2 years ago, that has nothing to do with whether he thought Ashli Babbit was a threat or not. Ashli Babbit served in the military but that has nothing to do with whether she was committing a crime when she was shot. She was committing a crime and she was perceived as a threat and was shot. That makes it a valid shooting under any police procedure.

They did see the gun. How do you think we got the video of it? Hmm?

Do you think a 110 pound unarmed woman is a threat? Are you that much of a chicken???

So the police stops a 250 lb heavily prison tattooed male suspect can they just shoot him because he looks threatening? Is that the standard? Gee you liberals are trigger happy. :palm: Remind me again how a tiny 110 lb unarmed woman is an imminent threat.
