Pope calls down Putin's barbarism

Oh gee, now that the pope condemns the invasion I guess I'm against it too.

Meaning you are still supporting Russia, not the free West.

Are there still people who care what the Pope claims to think?

1.2 Billion Catholics, dumbass. Over 50M of them in the US, you silly souse.

There are an estimated 1.2 billion Roman Catholics in the world, according to Vatican figures. More than 40% of the world's Catholics live in Latin America - but Africa has seen the biggest growth in Catholic congregations in recent years.

https://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2018/10/10/7-facts-about-american-catholics/
There are roughly 51 million Catholic adults in the U.S., accounting for about one-fifth of the total U.S. adult population, according to Pew Research Center’s 2014 Religious Landscape Study. That study found that the share of Americans who are Catholic declined from 24% in 2007 to 21% in 2014.

Well, I admit you Republicans had me fooled in the 1990s that moral conscience should supposedly play an outsized role in the public sphere.

You ended up worshipping an amoral orange-tinted sleazebag.

Pope Francis is one of the leading voices of moral conscience on the planet, but I would not expect a Trump supporter to either understand nor appreciate it's significance.

Maybe I should be more obvious for those that are too thick and spell out my sarcasm.
.

Your posts define you. Not a single post but your posts over time just like they do mine and everyone else. You can claim "It's a joke" or "can't you see sarcasm?" all you like but over 12,000 posts are a lot of data points.

Putin is in a hole of his own making. Yes, the pope has many millions of followers. there are millions around the world who are his fans.
I guess a man of peace is not the Rightys kind of guy.

More people care about what dutch says than they care about your words

He uses truths most of the time unlike you
That’s nice.
You didn’t answer the question.
Are you saying Dutch is not human? Or is he obsessed with me? He seems to care a lot for some reason.

I do not subscribe to the post modernist philosophers that everything is relative and subjective.

I line up with Cicero and Augustine that the only acceptable reason for violence is self defense, and war by its nature is a sin.

there are wars for all reasons - self defense from NATO encirclement and be warred agaisnt in a proxy manner is another

the only maxim i know that fits war is "War is the ultimate failure of diplomacy"

The bolded is no justification for war - and certainly not for the kind of war that's being waged right now.

That's sheer apologism.

"justification" has nothing to do with it.
realpolitik only looks at interstate relations

Putin tried to negotiate -sent 3 letters to Biden which were ignored as Biden uber-weaponized Ukraine
No attempt at diplomacy. no attempt at coming to terms with Russian secuirty concerns...here we are

That's trying to justify.

You're completely implying that NATO, Biden and other factors are to blame. Putin is off the rails - this is an unjust, unnecessary and criminal war.

look at you "justification" "blame" - GTFO
and your considered analysis is "Putin is off the rails"
quit wasting my time with this gibberish

It's a damn shame to see the Russian military targeting non-combatants and reducing towns and cities to rubble?!!

If Russia uses bio and chemical weapons on the Ukraine, the west should get involved militarily?!!

I believe Congress will demand the Pentagon take some level of offensive action towards the Russian military directly involving us in the war.

You'll know as our Naval Fleet starts surrounding Europe and Asia in the following days orienting themselves for an all out assault on the Russian Army in the Ukraine, and Russian missile defense systems beyond the border into Russia.

Regardless if we like it or not, WWIII is looking more like an inevitable now!

For all we know, the Pentagon may have information that Russian Subs with ballistic missiles are already heading our way.
