Pompeo, Bolton Meet With North Koreans Next Week

Why do I have a feeling these two guys see things a lot differently than does Trump, especially, Bolton. Bolton’s comments almost torpedoed the summit.

Having advisers that think differently is a good thing.

Especially with a pragmatist like Trump, who isn’t locked-in to an ideology. Bolton is a little two quick to reach for the stick [that’s why NK fears him—but that’s part of his role in this] but Bolton also knows the Norks about as well as anyone.

I’m sure Trump takes Pompeo and Bolton’s thinking into consideration but this is Trump’s show.

Good thing you don't have to deal with people for a living...you give up way too easily...
I use to deal with people for a living and did just fine. I just recognize fultiity when I encounter it. Hoping Trump succeeds is positive, yet, you keep claiming I’m not. One can be hopeful with reservations, you don’t seem to understand that.

Ok....

Lol, patience and tolerance? Isn’t that what past Presidents have done and been ridiculed for doing? Do you think removing troops from N Korea is a good plan? It’s what Trump has hinted at? Do you think that is what he promised Kim?
Im sure China loves that plan. I am not an expert on Asian foreign affairs, I have no idea how to fix Kim. I just prefer diplomacy to war.
it's an excellent plan..that would mean they are no longer needed.
Actually they are not really needed as ground troops now...but they are there do to the hostilities.

Now remove the overt saber rattling hostilities in favor of peaceful co-existence..
I just prefer diplomacy to war.
so does Trump why he is doing this

What they think is irrelevant and probably wrong anyway.

The meme is that Trump gave up too much without getting concessions in return. We’ll see about that. What’s amusing is the critics would second guess him after all their failed predictions and hyperventilating about Trump’s handling of Korea up until now.

You’d think they’d learn some humility at some point lol, but they just press on like none of it ever happened.
TDS. Just say no. always. 100% of the time. don't even think about it. "Trump!" grr grr

Aren’t most of us Trumpsters hopeful with reservations lol?

That’s a good point about dealing with people. Trump needed to meet Kim to get a feel for him because that’s what he did as a business man. It was also helpful for Kim for the same reasons.

It’s very likely they both understand each other and that can only be a good thing. We’ll see what happens next.

if the summit is any indication of how well run their foreign policy team is...

so far my big complaint is Russia, but I blame Congress for that mess.
Hopefully a Putin/Trump summit can straighten out that fiasco a bit

Lol, Trump came away from the meeting thinking Kim was nice, honorable, intelligent and funny and that he loves his people. Do you really believe Trump got good insight into Kim?

^ DiploSpeak. Trump is looking forward, not backwards.
If Kim goes thru with this he will be seen as a reformer. breaking the dynastic totalitarianism

So, then you agree with patience, tolerance, and diplomacy....as opposed to war...I'm not sure why you're freaking out...

Because she hates Trump and all he stands for. Believe me that the least thing China is worried about is the 35,000 US troops in South Korea.

ADDED: BTW China has 300,000 troops on the Korean border.

Lol, you don’t get it.

Persuasion is an art. This is where your TDS prevents you from giving Trump credit for the sense to come in out of the rain. Trump knows all about Kim and that he’s a thug.

The problem is how to *persuade* the thug to change his ways. For Trump to lambaste Kim and tell him he sucks would be totally counterproductive to that end. So, he does just the opposite and tells Kim he loves his people etc.

Maybe it will work, maybe it won’t. You’re sure it won’t, but you were sure Trump’s Twitter rhetoric wouldn’t work either, so there’s that lol.

I’m going to wait and see.

Lol, okay, Trump is a strategic genius, not a man who is duped by people who flatter him. We’ll go with that for now.

I think he is, to get the Saudis on his side he tore up the Iran nuclear deal. He will need them when Israel is the next to be dealt with. Iran needs to be firmly slapped down and put back in its box.

There you go with the meme.

If Trump could be had simply by flattering him, someone needs to let the G-7 in on it lol. If anything, Trump is bullheaded when it comes to getting what he’s after.
