Name one thing the government has ever lowered the COST of. Not prices. But the COST.

Not everything citizens deal with is a good or service that is desireable. Not all that costs a lot costs too much. I don't want to lower the producer's cost of mafia extortion, white collar crime and pollution. I want the government to make it expensive. I want to pay the government to support education, to make polluting expensive, etc.
