Desh, you make a great point, Obamacare ends a certain amount of corporate slavery. I've known many people tied to there jobs and willing to do just about anything to keep it, because quitting or getting fired ended there health care options and would financially ruin their families and possibly lead to there death from lack of healthcare.

This is one of the reasons Corporate America is so against it, it helps small businesses and allows more freedom for responsible American workers.

Could also force some employers to clean up their acts if they are then forced to hire workers who won't put up with slave practices. A little bit more control in the hands of the workers and a little less in the hands of unscrupulous employers!

America may be starting to grow up a bit.

I hope so, some employers are downright abusive to employees. I quit my last workplace because someone who had some power over me thought he could bully me around, it was the best decision I ever made, I am making more $ than I lost by quitting, and I was prepared to take a big loss. Now when I see the creep around town, even though I gave proper notice and treated the situation very professionally, he wont even speak to me. I had to send him a cease and desist letter to get him to stop attempting to spread lies about me also.

Some people cant handle when people they considered below them break free.

I know the attitude very well. It's all about supply and demand for labour and this cuts into the supply somewhat in that it's going to make it harder to find somebody who will put up with unfair and abusive employer practices. Not much but at least it's a start and a start is one of the right's biggest fears. Best of luck with Obamacare!

A lot of changes and fixes will be necessary with Obamacare, but its better than sticking with the same broken system we had for over 50 years.

Obviously, the system was bankrupting your country and the Repubs knew that too. But I think Obamacare is severely endangered due to the diluting down that was allowed to happen and also because the people have not been clever enough to reject the politics of hate and the lies being told to them by the rabid right.

If you lose it then I have to blame the American people for not being susceptible to social change. That is mainly because of the stigma attached as in their acceptance of what they 'think' is the American way but what has been substituted for something entirely different by the very wealthy through government actions over many years starting with Reagan.

Americans still think that it's stealing from the rich or stealing other people's money when in actual truth it's only taking back a part of their country's wealth. I hear that coming from even the most avid leftists. I hear them expressing fear of social change as if it's connected to that bad word. And I don't hear them expressing the basic truth that it's right to be trying to take back some of what was theirs in your heydays.

It's what I refer to as too much flagwaving. If they are waving the flag then they can't be a part of changing what's wrong at the same time. They have signed on to 'the American way'.

The political right knows this and they go to great lengths to keep it happening. And so, the right is not going to destroy all that's good with Obamacare, they will enlist the support of the people who are willing to serve their purposes to do it for them.

All this may be perfectly obvious to you but it's not being expressed as being so. That's why I think change for good is severely endangered.

The first thing on my schedule for tomorrow is to shop the exchanges for personal healthcare and to see if I can find a better plan for my wife and kids. My employee is also going to shop to see if she can get a better deal than the one I am currently paying for on her behalf.

I agree, that would be the lesson, but those "flag wavers" will not learn it, those of us open to the lesson have already learned it. I just hope we outnumber the they, and can win this battle. There are good people in the Republican party who are involved in a civil war for the heart of half of America's political system.
