Pelosi says House Democrats will begin process to obtain Trump tax returns

it would have to be under (i) not (f).......(f) is only for investigations of tax procedures....(i) is necessary for criminal investigations.....looks like he has to be indicted first......

False.... it does not support your claim. Where does it say that (f) is only for tax procedures? And what are tax procedures?

{i} says its for criminal investigations.......that mean everything not {i}, is not.......have you forgotten how to read federal regulations?.........

Simply untrue, and even if it were true... the House’s investigation is not a Criminal Investigation, it is a fact finding investigation.

BTW here is (i)

(i) Disclosure to Federal officers or employees for administration of Federal laws not relating to tax administration

It does not say it’s for criminal matters.

The Trump family dodged taxes

"... the newspaper charged that [the trump family] “dodged hundreds of millions of dollars in gift taxes by submitting tax returns that grossly undervalued" the real estate assets they put in their parent Fred and Mary Trump’s GRATs. For example, even though the properties sold for $900 million a few years later, Fred Trump’s 1995 gift tax return said they were worth just $41.4 million. That’s a huge tax dodge.

And the tax authorities noticed, finding on audit that the properties were worth $57.1 million."

The Trumps low-balled the valuation, figuring that although the IRS has rules for determining fair market value, they weren’t likely to be challenged."

Yeah, that's the ticket......let's go back to 1995!

criminal matters would fall into that set of things which are not related to tax administration.....

trump is certainly hiding something. The only question is what is he hiding.

One of the problems, I think, is that his mind is such a battered mess that he can't remember what he's hiding or distinguish it from the vast number of lies he peddles every day. It seems likely, though, that any agreed truth about anything financial must be hidden even better than his extra-marital busy business.

Yup.

Trump is not NEARLY smart enough to be as much a liar as he is.

In order to be a successful liar...one has to be brilliant.

In order to be a successful liar on the magnitude of how Trump operates...one has to be close to god-like brilliant.

Trump's "brilliance" should work for a fib or two a year...TOPS.

Trump is not hiding anything. He just wants his tax returns to remain private like everyone else.

Then he should not have run for president...AND PROMISED TO RELEASE THEM...

...because "release them" is what presidential candidates do...

...if they have even an iota of ethics...

...which I am not accusing Donald Trump of having.

Hello hvilleherb,

Democrats are desperate to find any dirt they can on Trump. Voters will remember how Democrats changed their tune on privacy when grabbing Trump's private tax returns.

Democratic candidates release their returns for public scrutiny.

Not true. If he wanted his returns to remain private, he would not have publicly announced that he was going to release them.

He is a public official. He is not like everyone else. He is our employee. We have a right to know more about him. His taxes are our business.
