Nancy Pelosi said Democrats will begin to seek President Donald Trump's tax returns when they take control of the U.S. House of Representatives in January.

The House Ways and Means Committee will "take the first steps," said Pelosi, who has the backing of her members to become the next speaker of the U.S. House in January.

"There is popular demand for the Congress to request the president's tax returns," she said, speaking to reporters. "I'm sure the White House will resist, so the question is where do we go from there."

On what grounds does Nancy need to see them? Trump's been in office for 2 years next month. He takes no salary.
There's no legal requirement for government workers to show the public their past tax returns.
Any returns prior to this are his business, not theirs.

He doesn't take a salary because he's profiting off the expense of staying at Mar-a-Lago or any of his other hotels, and those costs far exceed any salary he would take as POTUS.

Every single presidential candidate for the last 50 years has shown their taxes. Trump's entangled businesses make it more important for the American people to see where he gets his money and makes deals. There must be a reason that he refused to show his after demanding that Romney show his. Trump has something to hide. It is just that easy.

You believe he donates his President salary? What about all the other charity he pretends to have donated? How can you believe any of that w/o proof? Because Trump said so? You are gullible, bud.

I think he can donate it to anyone or anything he wants, but I don't think he can refuse to take payment. Oh yea, the only place I have heard the does not accept a salary is in the right wing noise machine.
