I compared it to worship because the optics match, a crowd applauding a giant golden statue while a pastor frames it as divinely protected. You don’t need literal kneeling for something to look like idol‑level devotion. You keep chanting it’s not worship like a broken smoke alarm, and it’s starting to feel less like a rebuttal and more like you’re trying to convince yourself.

I never said they were literally worshiping anything, I said the optics look like it. A giant golden statue, a cheering crowd, and a pastor invoking divine protection isn’t exactly subtle imagery.

If that resemblance makes you uncomfortable, that’s on the people who staged it, not on the person pointing out the obvious.

So if you want to argue, argue the scene. Repeating it’s not worship doesn’t make you right, it just makes you predictable.
