Palin throws kerosene on the fire

What do you think she should have done? Should she apologize? If so, for what? Bad taste?

She is a confrontational person. If anyone expected her to try and accept the trial and conviction of a nonexistent crime, you obviously haven't seen how she works.

She did something that hundreds of other politicians have done. The intent was the same as those hundreds of other politicians and political party workers.

But, before there was very a single iota of evidence, she was tried and convicted of being responsible for this murderer's actions.

Funny, when it came out that the guy was just a luntic, none of those blaming Palin seemed ready to apologize. This despite their insistence that "words have consequences".

Your real beliefs and intent is becoming clear...CRYSTAL.

You are not for any moderation or calming of the rhetorical climate. Just admit you worship Sarah Palin.

What do I think she should have done? It really doesn't matter. I don't speak for her.

We still haven't heard from the shooter, what has come out have all been guesses about what made him do it, aren't you jumping to conclusions as well. I don't blame her for the murder, but I blame her for hate talk and creating division for personal gain.

Now this phrase that has a very deep historical meaning and she isn't once again healing but creating more division! She is an idiot. She proves once more that she is in it again for herself and not others. She could have made people feel bad about accusing her, instead, she more or less proves she is in it for herself.

No, I have not been jumping to conclusions at all. I have spent several days arguing that we have to wait an see what the motivations of this lunatic are before we blame anyone.

My stance has not been that anyone is innocent. My stance has been that it is disgusting to politicize this horrible tragedy to either harm or help any political agenda.

she didn't throw kerosene on the fire. she make excellent points. it is blood libel. the left used the blood of innocents to libel and slander the right.

the left is just so fucking desperate to move away from their disgusting reaction, that a non violent speech by palin is now to blame for keeping up the heated rhetoric, that was started by the left this weekend.

its disturbing how hateful and delusional so many on the left are.

Let's see what Obama says at the memorial, and how you guys are going to parse his words.

'Blood libel,' social sin and Sarah Palin

Sarah Palin released a nearly eight-minute video Wednesday morning that says that those who imply she bears some responsibility for the tragic shootings in Arizona are guilty of "blood libel," a loaded phrase that dates to the Middle Ages and has deep and painful connotations for Jews.

"Journalists and pundits should not manufacture a blood libel that serves only to incite the very hatred and violence they purport to condemn," Palin said in the statement.

The term refers to the false claim made by Christians starting in the Middle Ages that Jews murder non-Jews and use their blood for ritual or medicinal purposes. According to the Anti-Defamation League, the words are connected to anti-Semitism and have a long and painful history for Jews:

"The allegation that Jews murder non-Jews to use their blood for ritual or medicinal purposes dates back to the Middle Ages and has spawned many variants over time. Jewish law expressly prohibits the consumption of any blood. Nevertheless it was alleged that Jews drank Christian blood on Passover and mixed it into matzah, the unleavened bread eaten on that holiday. During medieval times two popes expressly declared such claims to have been fabricated. Nevertheless, instances of what has come to be known as the "blood libel" have persisted into modern times. Blood libels have frequently led to mob violence and pogroms, and have occasionally led to the decimation of entire Jewish communities."

I don't think it was her intent to offend Jews. I think it was her intent to paint her self as a poor persecuted momma grizzly. It is an odd choice of words though and the cynic in me thinks, things like this don't happen by accident. To be honest. I'd never heard the phrase used before Palin just used it.

She could have been a peacemaker, but she choose the other route, to defend herself once again, again, when people show you who they are, believe them! and today, she showed us who she is!

And this spoken by someone who has not had a high opinion of Palin and her politics all along, that is if I have read Winter correctly in the past couple of years. What is the difference between his assessment of the situation and what Palin said and the author's? Nigel's? etc.? Can someone please answer?

WTF?? Have I said anything that makes you think I worship her? She is an idiot, and I have said so many times.

Funny that you say you don't speak for her, but you are all pissed off about what she said.

My beliefs and my intent should have been clear from the beginning of this topic. At least they should have to any rational, english-speaking person.

The rush to blame anyone for the murders is wrong. When that rush involves political motivations, it becomes disgusting. Is that clear enough?

Thank you, Leaning. The idea that I was accused of worshipping her is laughable.

Does she know Gabby Giffords is Jewish? She probably doesn't. I wish she would just stay in her house in Wasilla and leave us normal people alone.

Yeah Sarah you stupid bitch "just stay in your house". Who do you think you are coming out angry over the foundationless hate being directed at you!

Nice~

No, her intent was to show that she is persecuted unjustly. The phrase is generally considered to be anti-Semitic. She is once again using a phrase to incite that will come back to bite her in the ass! She loves controversy, like you said, it makes lots of money, does she have another book coming out?

She loves to take phrases and give them new meaning, she is an idiot.

Get off the cross Sarah, someone needs the wood, or you are giving a lot of guys like Yurt wood! You are such a persecuted victim! Surely there will be a place for you in heaven! Now, remind me, what are the gifts of the Holy Spirit? What are the signs of the devil?

Oh hell, I understand full well why you pick on her. She makes it so easy.

But what I have had a problem with is the "Blame Game" that the lefties played before we knew anything about the shooter or his motives.

What you did was give her a genuine reason to play the victim. You added validity to her claim that the left is out to get her.

Yea...I agree....I think it's a bad idea to play the blame game. I have no problem with pointing out who is using inflammatory rhetoric regardless of affiliation. They need to be reminded at this time where irresponsible language can lead.

Cause I'm so opinionated my wife bought a refregerator magnet with the following aimed at me.

"How about a big cup of shut the hell up? Think before you say something stupid!"

Looks like there's a lot of people out there that need to be reminded of that, huh?

I think Palin was getting sympathy from more people as time went on because of the way her earlier remarks were being used against her. Then she made these comments and set herself back to square one. Palin has a positive genius for shooting herself in the foot. Her judgment is really questionable.

I don't think she understood the history behind the words, either. But it's like when Tony Hayward said he just wanted to get his life back after the BP explosion that killed 11 people. We know what he really meant, but that particular choice of words was cringe-worthy.

Yeah Sarah you stupid bitch "just stay in your house". Who do you think you are coming out angry over the foundationless hate being directed at you!

Nice~

You good Christians should read your book a little more and talk a little less!

2 Timothy 2:16 says, "Avoid godless chatter, because those who indulge in it will become more and more ungodly."

2 Timothy 2:24-25 says, "And the Lord's servant must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. Those who oppose him he must gently instruct, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth."

1 Timothy 6:4-5 gives us a warning against an says, ""... unhealthy interest in controversies and arguments that result in envy, quarreling, malicious talk, evil suspicions and constant friction between men of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain."

Indeed they do, Mott.

Stupid democrats~

Rep. Robert Brady, D-Pa., said he has no knowledge about what motivated Loughner to attack Giffords and the others, but he still wants legislation that bans the use of certain imagery when talking about congressional targets.

"I want to eliminate what may have been," Brady told Fox News. "I'm not a psychologist ... All I'm saying is you can't put a bull's eye or a crosshair on a member of Congress."

Love the magnet! Ask your wife where she got it. :)

Yeah well you abnormal people should not be opening your fat stupid yappers and just stay home and shut the fuck up then huh frog~

Perhaps you should stay away from controversal topics since you are so loathe to engage in them-

You been robbed of the truth frog? Seems so to me~

Normally I would agree with you, but in this instance I do not.

Within hours of the shooting people here on this website and other places were blaming her for the shooting. No actual evidence, just an desire to slam her. When it was pointed out that there were several liberal websites with similar visuals, people here even claimed "bullseyes are not as bad as crosshairs", so the intent was not to rein in the hostility but to blame a select few.

In this instance, Palin is correct that she has been singled out for no valid reason.
