Obama appeased Putin endlessly, when he could have just continued Bush's hardline policy to begin with. It turns out he was wrong, and was forced to implement some meaningless responses to the situation he created. It's like lauding JFK for the Cuban Missile Crisis that his screw-ups created in the first place. But, hey, Obama was able to nail Flynn during the transition for talking de-escalation with the Russians, so, Obama's stupidity worked out.
