Osama Bin Laden DEAD!

Obama has stayed the course set by Clinton in 1993 and then Bush in 2001 in hunting and getting Osama.....he has stayed the course set by Bush in Iraq.....he has stayed the course set by Bush in Afghanistan....

I give him all the credit he is due........Obama has done us proud in continuing the war on terrorism.......kudos and well done.

Yes, and Obama did that with the entire liberal left screaming against it in his ear. Well done indeed!

The more that comes out on this the more you have to admire the resolve it took. Four years ago they learned the name of the courier that led to Osama. But it took that long to work through the security networks and track the bastard until he led us to the cowardly one.

Kudos to Obama for having a plan of action in place and not hesitating to use it. That was a big risk in notifying Pakistan leadership after the fact. I think it was the right call and I think in his speech last night he stated it in such a diplomatic fashion that it allows Pakistani leadership to 'save face' despite the fact we acted in their country without permission for that mission so close to Islamabad.

Who was the president back then? :)

So deeply heartening to see the personal attacks on a thread dedicated to the success of our military. Just for once... if you feel someone has attacked you on this thread... please... let it go. Lets keep this thread as a discussion about the success and about our mutual respect for the men and women in our military and intel agencies who worked for four years to make this happen. Just a thought.

That's BS rewriting of history. The left that I know was screaming to actually go after the guy behind 9/11. You're getting things confused w/ Iraq.

And your very 1st reaction to this is on this thread for all to see. Immediate panic about the possible beneficial windfall for Obama - not one moment of feeling good about what just happened.

and thank you to obama, who without his guiding oversight and wisdom, this would have been impossible. No one else is as responsible as he is. We are all indebted to obama.

Again - I appreciate the sentiment, particularly w/ regard to our military, but Dix can't just keep spewing BS w/out some response...

Of course, THAT isn't politicizing a thing in a liberal's mind!

This is the TWO-FACED hypocrisy we typically get from the left, I don't know why I am surprised... I guess because it's followed up by the brow-beating of others, who dare to mention President Bush, as "politicizing" it. It's not rare, but it's unusual to see pinheads so brazenly hypocritical.

No, it's not "rewriting of history" at all, pinhead... have a look-see:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Protests_against_the_War_in_Afghanistan_(2001–present)

On Saturday March 20, 2010, an estimated 10,000 demonstrators marched through downtown Washington D.C. to protest the U.S.-led invasions and wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The crowd, stretching about four blocks long, started at Lafayette Square, stopping in front of Halliburton's offices and the Mortgage Bankers Association's building, and ended at the White House. Protesters contrasted the financial funding of the two American wars to the lack of money for health care, job growth, and cash-strapped local governments and school systems. Protest signs included "Healthcare not warfare" and "Drop tuition, not bombs", and marchers shouted:[62]

"Money for jobs and education, not more war and occupation!"

And my very first reaction was to call you into question for your giddiness, since you lead the pinhead anti-war procession here. If this had been entirely up to the liberal anti-war left, we wouldn't have even had a military force in the area, hell we may not even have a military!

OBL has been on the FBI most wanted list since 1999....

That's true and the fact that he thanked the civilian leadership of Pakistan and not their military, given their penchant for military coups, was a very significant comment.

Somehow though I get the feeling that Obama may have signed the death warrant for the Pakistani President as some muslim extremist will probably kill him. Oh well...that's his problem now.

Osama bin Laden Killed: White Knuckle Moments for Navy SEALs

(WASHINGTON) -- The Navy SEALs team that conducted the operation to kill Osama bin Laden was the legendary Team Six, aka DevGru, or the “Naval Special Warfare Development Group,” flown into Pakistan by helicopter teams from the 160th Special Operations Air Regiment, part of the Joint Special Operations Command.

The original plan was for the Navy SEALs to rappel down into the compound, and that’s how they practiced it in April on a replica of the compound the military constructed in the U.S. on which SEALs Team Six conducted two practice runs.

But Sunday, one of the helicopters had an issue -- they’re not sure what as of now -- and conducted a soft crash landing. The chopper hit the deck -- “it was a real white-knuckle moment,” a U.S. official tells ABC News.

Another white-knuckle moment came at the end of the operation when Pakistan’s military scrambled fighter jets looking for the U.S. helicopters. The Pakistani planes never reached the U.S. helicopters.

The U.S. team got back to Afghanistan by around 5:45 p.m. ET.

This operation happened, an official said, because of dogged, relentless intelligence work. For years, from detainees at Gitmo, the CIA had the nom de guerre of the courier, but they didn’t have his true name until 2007.

Intel spotted him in early 2009 -- it took a while to follow him. Last August when intelligence found the compound, the reaction was along the lines of “Oh my God who are they hiding here?” an official said, recalling definite recognition this was a significant find. Congressional leaders were briefed about the compound in December.

One possible complication: while CIA contractor Ray Davis was in the Pakistani prison there were concerns about his safety should this mission have been conducted.

Davis’ March 16 release cleared that possible obstacle to the operation -- a kill mission, with the clear objective to kill bin Laden.

Its cute watching the pinheads pussy-foot around idol worship of Obama and try to refrain from sounding overly political about it all.....I'll help......

We all know of Obama's vast knowledge of all things millitary and his extensive training in the trenches of Chicago..... his chest full of
military awards for bravery and campaign planning is rumored but due to his humility, he keeps the details to himself....this feat could never have been accomplished without his
extraordinary leadership and his help in personally training the Navy Seals in undertaking this foray into OBL's "mansion".....

You guys can feel free to C and P this for use on future worship threads
