I want you to explain why Leon Panetta is (conveniently) suddenly a credible source for you. Tell me, how long have you admired Mr. Panetta and ascribed such reverence to his every utterance?

Then I want you to back up the claims you made with facts.
What you want means about as much as a bucket of spit means to me....

I gather you were a dear supporter of Rumsfeld for the last 10 years....huh

You insist on taking him out of context.....Rummy was only speaking about intell gathered at Gitmo.....and there was NO waterboarding at Gitmo....therefore there was no intell gathered at Gitmo from waterboareding.....how many different ways can we explain it to you....

You can explain what point you're trying to make by separating the locations of the waterboarding. It's still torture and it was still done at the US's direction.

So, anything he has to say about events that occured after he left government in 2006 is irrelevant.
He can give us all the opinions hes wants to....he ain't at the security meeting every morning and he ain't going to the CIA headquarters getting briefed....he ain't my source, hes YOURS

I found a seam in your seamless argument.

Waterboarding is a form of torture in which water is poured over the face of an immobilized captive, causing the individual to experience the sensation of drowning.

I never asked you to cash my checks.....wtf ?

Bravo says that Rummy only said there was no waterboarding at Gitmo.

Rummy left office in 2006.

How is what Rummy remembers from before 2006 applicable to 2011?

Waterboarding has been illegal for years.

How is info supposedly waterboarded out of people years ago responsible for something that happened this week?

Why, next, you'll be saying that the economy is a mess because of stuff that happened during the Bush administration!

DIRECTLY from the CIA
BRIAN WILLIAMS:

10:47:31:00 I'd like to ask you about the sourcing on the intel that ultimately led to this successful attack. Can you confirm that it was-- as a result of water boarding that we learned what we needed to learn to go after Bin Laden?

LEON PANETTA:

10:47:53:00 It-- you know, Brian, in the intelligence business you work from a lot of sources of information and that was true here. We had a multiple source-- a multiple series of-- sources that provided information with regards to the situation. Clearly some of it came from detainees and the interrogation of detainees but we also had information from other sources as well.

10:48:18:00 From Sigent intelligence, from imagery, from other sources that we had-- assets on the ground. And it was a combination of all of that that ultimately we were able to put together that led us to that compound. So-- it's-- it's a little difficult to say it was due just to one source of information that we got.

BRIAN WILLIAMS:

10:48:36:00 Turned around the other way, are you denying that water boarding was, in part, among the tactics used to extract the intelligence that led to this successful mission?

LEON PANETTA:

10:48:48:00 No, I think some of the detainees clearly were, you know, they used these enhanced interrogation techniques against some of these detainees. But I'm also saying that, you know, the debate about whether-- whether we would have gotten the same information through other approaches I think is always gonna be an open question.

BRIAN WILLIAMS:

10:49:07:00 So finer point, one final time, enhanced interrogation techniques, which has always been kind of a handy euphemism in these post-9/11 years. That-

LEON PANETTA:

10:49:16:00 Right.

BRIAN WILLIAMS:

10:49:17:00 --in-- includes water boarding?

LEON PANETTA:

10:49:20:00 That's correct.

Panetta says the euphemism "enhanced interrogation" includes waterboarding....so?

You're the one claiming that waterboarding isn't torture and that without it, we wouldn't have gotten OBL.

Here's how it works - you made the claim, you need to prove it. Or not.

that without it, we wouldn't have gotten OBL.?????????????????????????????

Thats not accurate......what most of us are saying is that, according to the CIA, some intell. gathered by waterboarding was used in the operation.....thats not
the same as saying we wouldn't have gotten him without it....we'll never know that....
