Only in Alabama!

 Yep!

Like several other MAGATards on this forum, during the pandemic Toxic became an Acme Instant Doctor(tm). Why, you don't need a vaccine! Just take zinc and vitamins and eat lettuce and you'll be just fine! :rofl2:

Watching them trying to be two minute experts on the pandemic was scary to watch.

No one would want to take that risk.

The problem here is that IVF is a long procedure that requires frequent clinic appointments. You can't just drive over to Georgia, for instance, and use a clinic there. And what is to stop a local fundie do-gooder prosecutor from filing charges? What's to stop a nosey neighbor or a spiteful coworker, like Toxic for example, telling the authorities that they overhead someone discussing their pregnancy and that they had the surplus embryos disposed of?

Exactly. Who wants to risk a murder charge by an overzealous Trumper?

Which is why these foolhardy legal tactics by "pro-life" Trumpers are really family-killing policies.

Alabama ruled on the devastating loss of the possibility for a miracle of life...as they should have... the fact that political chaos ensued is not surprising considering... everything is going to be fine... nothing wrong with sending a message when negligence occurs and destroys...

Yes, most of the Cult are old fucks like us. That being said, they are still a minority. A very loud, crazy minority, but we sane geezers still outnumber them, don't you think?

Not by much. Worse, it doesn't matter if Trumpers are only 10% of the electorate, if they are part of the 51% who show up on Election Day, then they are "the majority".

Watching them trying to be two minute experts on the pandemic was scary to watch.

Mostly because they were trying so hard to convince even stupider people that the virus was a nothingburger. I wonder how many ppl would still be above ground today if it hadn't been for all the anti-science morons like Toxic, her bff Minty, Darth, Sister Stench, etc. spreading their lies?

They just use this stuff as virtue-signaling about what great Xtians they are. In their minds, it cancels out their opposition to tougher gun control, food stamps, "welfare," disability, funding public education, Medicaid, even Social Security and Medicare.

So now the right wants to try and convince us that those frozen embryos in petri dishes are babies too?

Is the right afraid they are going to win the upcoming election so they are doing everything in their power to lose?

Nobody, including the most fanatical MAGA moron, actually believes a human life begins at conception.

Nobody would ever consider risking their life to run into a burning fertility clinic to save the petri dishes of blastocysts.

Trumpers are notorious for believing they are smarter than the experts. The Orange Jesus thinks he's smarter the Generals and the doctors. His fans believe they get better medical information off Facebook than from their own doctors. This, IMO, is the result of 30 years of Republican attacks on the public education system....or, as they put it, "stopping the Liberal indoctrination of children." Sad.

Even Toxic, who has been frantically trying to convince us how precious the little microscopic bits are so we'll believe that she's really godly and all that. :rofl2:

I've always thought the anti choice contingent really just cared about controlling women, and less about babies and embryos

She's an old drunk and a well-known demented liar. Fortunately, she can be on JPP where she can commiserate with all the other Trumper drunks and demented liars.

Thanks Damo!

That's exactly my read too. It's not about "the unborn", it's about controlling women just like their other policies are about controlling minorities.

When were Republicans ever supportive of equal rights for all? Equal pay for equal work? Equal education for all Americans regardless of income level? Equal access to polling booths on election days? Since the Cold War ended and the Evangelistas took control of the Republican Party, it seems they've only become increasingly White Christian Nationalists seeking to turn the clock back on America where White males are in charge and everyone else says "Yessir!!!"

It's also the result of Republicans hopping into bed with the Evangelicals in order to get and maintain power. If voters distrust science, maybe they will return to the Xtian god, they think. I grew up in an enclave of scientists. During the Cold War years, Republicans strongly supported scientific R&D, and willingly funded public schools, particularly in math and science. But now? See for yourself:

Americans’ Trust in Scientists, Positive Views of Science Continue to Decline

Some neanderthals are stuck in a paradigm of traditional gender roles. Men make the decisions and women are not supposed to have full agency and autonomy.

That's a logical theory which is merited by the facts. They're actions are contradictory as you alluded: they claim all life is sacred, but have no problem killing illegals, regardless of age, at the border or in foreign lands. They clammer about the rights of "the unborn", but, other than their own, they don't give a shit about American kids starving or being poorly educated. They are pro-death penalty for "thugs".

Exactly. If already-born children are so "precious," we wouldn't have constant battles from the fascist RW about funding social safety net programs, public education, health care, housing, and so on. Instead, their policy subtext is "You sluts open your legs (or petri dish), you'll pay the price."

Better here where she can do little harm, than out in the real world spreading hate and despair.

That's a very Western view of patriarchy, meaning it's more cultural than genetic. When the Bible was canonized, the books accepted as "truth" by the Council of Nicaea were the ones that pushed a pro-male agenda and eliminated the contribution of women, specifically Mary Magdalene. That was Fourth Century. The West has pushed this same paradigm of male control for the past 1700+ years.

Comparing the roles of men and women cross-culturally shows a consistent pattern of shared power with each sex providing their part of a Yin-Yang relationship.
