Only in Alabama!

I guess they can't trust themselves to not be negligent.... I guess they don't care about their patients and their potential children...
Ahh new talking point downloaded already I see.

With regards to your reply i would say 'or.... or.... No Dr or hospital will risk being sued or even indicted by over zealous State prosecutors, who want to send a signal'.

We all saw that even with a court ruling, in Texas, approving a life saving abortion, the State AG immediately said they would sue or bring charges regardless to ensure no hospital would do it.

The entire Republi'can' playbook is to use vague unclear laws and the threat of prosecution knowing that no Dr or hospital will put themselves at risk and their lawyers will recommend 'do nothing' until a clear law is availabe.

If women get the treatment and dont get pregnant they can sue the Dr and Clinic for killing their baby?

It’s gonna happen if they practice in states with those laws

Smart people know that

So they will move to a state that doesn’t have these laws

It is much more than that.

If any Dr or hospital does the procedure, they will IN MOST CASES create more fertilized embryos than will be used.

Who is responsible for those remaining embryos if the woman gets pregnant and does not need the rest?

If they are "children" and cannot be destroyed is keeping them frozen forever an acceptable outcome and if so who pays? the parents who paid to have them made? The Dr? The hospital?

Or would they say keeping them frozen forever is cruel and unusual punishment and they MUST all be used? Do they force the parents who commissioned them to implant them all year by year until they are gone?

Not unless the doctor is clearly negligent... I think women who opt for IVF are very understanding of the procedure and the risks... and the success rates... there are contracts you know... you can look up IVF lawsuits... maybe that will help you better understand...https://www.nytimes.com/2024/02/15/health/cooper-surgical-ivf-embryos-lawsuits.html

So explain what is allowed to happen, in a scenario where two parents, who have completed the procedure, get pregnant with the first egg implanted and they have 12 more embryos that are frozen and fertilized.

You seem to think this is easy for every one to now act upon, so who is responsible for those remaining Embryo's (children)? Can they be destroyed? If not, who pays to keep them stored and for how long?

Explain it all since it so clear and there are no legal issues you see for Dr's and Hospitals and parents to deal with.

This isn't an abortion... if doctors wish withhold treatment that's on them... as I mentioned there is a contract involved that pretty much covers anything that might go wrong and what will be done with embryos after the procedure is complete or abandoned...

IVF has been happening for quite some time.... this recent law refers to negligence when comes to protecting the Frozen embryos... correct?

So now the right wants to try and convince us that those frozen embryos in petri dishes are babies too?

Is the right afraid they are going to win the upcoming election so they are doing everything in their power to lose?

I'd rather lose for doing the right thing than selling soul to the evil one.

it is giving the frozen embryos personhood and the same rights as any child, post birth.

So again, I ask you the question, since you think it is clear and easy for the Dr and hospitals to act.

If Parents, use one of 15 frozen embryos. get pregnant and no longer need or want the remaining 14...

- can the parents direct the remaining 14 to be destroyed? (kill a 'person')
- if not, does the parent or hospital or Dr have to pay to keep them frozen forever?
- Can the state find be frozen FOREVER to be a form of 'denial of liberty' to the 'person' that is the frozen embryo and thus demand they be implanted to have a chance to live

Just bullet point you 3 answers since this is all clear to you.

What is done with the remaining embryos is what is contracted

. And that is up to the individuals who are the parents... that isn't going to change...

Ok, so you are dumb and have no clue what you are talking about despite acting like you know, and assuming it easy for others to know.

By designating the embryo a 'person', no one can then contract away their life.

The personhood over rides any contract provisions with regards to 'ending life', by default.

You are simply wrong that the embryo is a 'CHILD' who can be disposed of via contract.

What are they doing now with embryos that are not used?

They dispose of them pre this law.

Currently the hospitals and Dr's will not say what they will do with the ones they have, as they are consulting their legal.

Again, with the granting of personhood, and the same rights as any child, they currently cannot dispose of them and have to keep them frozen.

So you're saying they automatically and haphazardly toss whatever they don't use? I'm almost sure you believe that...
Why would it a problem to keep them frozen, btw? Except for the clinic who allows the general public to wander around and get into them...and then drop and destroy them...;) I'm sure they can absorb the cost, even though, like everything else during Joe's term, inflation has doubled the cost over 20 years... Just one of the costs that comes along with IVF, however...
No issues for a responsible hospital and good doctors who care for their patients...

it really is.A miscarriage is the loss of a baby... because it was wanted... an abortion is just getting rid of a clump of cells because it was unwanted... the frozen embryo discussion is pretty much the same... when recklessness or carelessness leads to the loss of these embryos this may mean that the couple involved have lost a chance to have children... everyone losing their mind here is ignoring that pesky detail...

Those using IVF typically create a number of embryos. If one of the first is successful what do you do with the other 10 created that are in the freezer?

No the frozen embryo is not the same and only fucking idiots will try to make it one.

Unknown. This is simply more of the Alt-Right War on Women. Like getting rid of Roe v. Wade, this will blow back in the faces of the Republican Party.

Yup, every day that party adopts or does something so stupid that another bunch say "that's enough, I'm done, I can't associate with such assholes".

why do they freeze embryos?

So someone will be provided with a human or a coffee pot ?

because when an embryo is implanted it may not take so if you have a dozen you can easily try again. If successful you can just flush the leftovers down the toilet.

What is normally done with the other embryos?
