OMG!!! Univ of Penn MEDICAL SCHOOL says blacks can skip taking the MCAT

There is nothing to argue about. It's not just the MCAT. It's all standardized tests. ACT SAT LSAT even cop and fireman tests. Blacks do terrible. The average black IQ is 65.

Also, everybody has to pass a licensing exam, not just those who went to off-shore schools.

Yes they do so at least there is a standard that foreign students have to meet to license in the US. A lot of countries have fewer years of med school than we do most european schools don't require a BS degree. . The main problems I see with SOME foreign doctors is the systems they trained in do not place the same value on life as we do in the US. I am retired but maintain my license and I do practice just enough to stay on staff at the three hospitals that I'm on staff . I just finished my 22 hours of CMEs this week that I'm required to take every year. A couple cases every 90 days in each hospital meets the requirement to stay on staff.. I have friends that I relieve when they go on vacation. It helps them out and me too. I have been part of the staff approval process for years at one of those three hospitals. I have been considering dropping off one of those three hospitals because I don't like their surgeons much.

My daughter completed Pre-Med, took the MCAT (she had a private tutor for months) was accepted at Emory but decided she had rather be a mom. Both jobs are noble.

I saw some of her MCAT study material and I have a greater respect for doctors...Medical School, residency, more school for a speciality...I don’t know how you do it.

Now you're saying that the MEAN scores for med students at 47 sample schools is as high as 522.

BUT

You have NOT provided the racial break down of scores for attending students in each of those schools. That is the crux of your declaration. Given the fluctuating numbers you've presented thus far, your dubious assertion is NOT a fact, but instead sheer supposition and conjecture.

If you STILL don't understand, get a nearby adult to explain it to you. If you can't or won't meet the simple burden of proof, don't waste yours and everyone else's time parroting a new version of the SOS.

Sorry I didn't realize how stupid you are. :laugh: The AVERAGE score for Black medical students is 6.8 points lower than White medical students. There is a reason that Howard medical school has the lowest admission standards of the 154 medical schools in the country. The average undergraduate GPA of the enrolled Howard students is 3.4 and the average MCAT score is 502.

Southwestern's medical school the school I attended standards are

The average MCAT for enrolled students is 515 with a range of 508 – 524. In our experience, students should have an MCAT of 516 or higher to be competitive for an interview invitation

A 505.9 MCAT score would not get you in to Southwestern Medical school. Southwestern lowest MCAT was 508

I suspect the 508 was a minority student.

Let's get back to the issue here. Why should blacks be allowed to skip the MCAT when everyone else has to take it.? Why must we have affirmative action and black privilege everywhere.? Will negroz ever be able to succeed on merit - outside of pro sports?

You have to love it. There was a woman in Texas that dropped out of medical school to have a baby. She came back about 25 years later to go to medical school with her daughter. She was in her 50s. :whoa:

And prior to the OP, there are reputable med schools that forgo the MCAT altogether, much less adhere to one set admission criteria.
