Ohio police shoot pregnant woman

And the worst could have happened with the white supremacist too, but you're still ignoring what he did. From the article:

"Harris, wearing a camouflage vest, was first reported to police by a witness who told authorities he pointed a gun at her and another woman outside the Greater Dominion Church and then attempted to enter the church, according to court papers.

Police said an arriving officer encountered Harris pointing the shotgun at him a block away from the church from the entryway of a closed auto parts business. Officers arrested Harris at that spot, and Lozier said he had no information about why Harris left the area of the church or whether he was confronted there.

At the man’s apartment, police reported finding a handgun, more shotgun shells, crystal methamphetamine paraphernalia and a notebook with handwriting about “active shooting,” as well as a front door barrier and furniture arranged in what looked like a setup for a possible standoff."

It's a funny thing about amphetamines.

When I was very young, in the 1950s, obese people used them to lose weight.
That was a thing back then.

When I was in college, in the 1960s, some students used them to stay wake so they could study later into the wee small hours.

Now insurrectionists use them to make pathetic attempts at violently overthrowing the government.

Among their notable traits, Americans are always looking for a new way to use everything.

There’s amphetamines and then there’s crystal meth.

We used to carry both morphine injectors and amphetamines in our survival vests until drug addicts began stealing them. Uncle Sam replaced them with APCs and caffeine tablets. “Good luck with that amputated arm!”

I'm not an expert.
Cannabis is the only drug--its really just an herb as far as I'm concerned --
that I've ever used recreationally, and quite sparingly at that.

Morphine is an essential emergency analgesic and should be readily available for anyone any time.

I don't know what amphetamines are good for.
I tried them once when I was a college freshman and hated them.
I can see adrenaline or something like that for emergencies if somebody needs reviving.

Yes, I can see that.

They can't be good for you, though.

I can take any opiates and give them up instantly as soon as another pain management method begins to work.
I never experienced illegal heroin, but that wouldn't be any different.
Opiates are not the least bit addictive to me, and they do work taking the sharp edge off serious pain.
Can't understand why anybody would want them for anything else, though.

Amphetamines, on the other hand, completely wipe out the effect of my Prozac and Librium and turn me into
a very irritable man best avoided by civilized people.
Needless to say, I don't find them addictive either. I just won't take them.

The one stimulant to which I am addicted is coffee, but coffee doesn't kill you as far as I can see.

He wasn't a chickenshit cop.

He was a patriot defending the United States Congress from an insurrectionist assailant.

A bitch attacking the Capitol of the United States goes into battle understanding the possibility of getting her ass capped.

The cop shooting the deranged broad with the ill-advised baby bump
was just scared for his own ass
and not mentally quick enough to come up with a more prudent reaction.

And this POS should have known gassing her car at a cop with his gun drawn she risked the possibility of getting her ass capped.

We don't know for sure that she was a piece of shit.
We can assume that she was off her fucking rocker, though,
and probably incapable of making even as simple a calculation as that.

We can't do much about the world's psychotics and miscreants.
We should be able to control our cops, however.

My daughter is a summa cum laude graduate of a prestigious university
and a lieutenant-detective with the Boston Police Department.

Boston is a major city, and while not particularly riddled with crime,
Rizzoli and Isles notwithstanding,
it of course has its share.

With 20+ years on the job, she's managed to avoid capping anybody's ass yet.

Then again, my kids aren't chicken shit morons.
You don't get that from the Gestapo and me.

A mother of 2 little ones with one on the way that steals liquor is a POS

That is not in the AP link and you know it. Here's the full article. You're just arguing for the sake of arguing.

BLENDON, Ohio (AP) — Police in a Columbus suburb fatally shot a pregnant woman in an Ohio supermarket parking lot after she accelerated her car toward an officer, police officials said.
Ta’Kiya Young, 21, of Columbus, died Thursday evening in Blendon.

A supermarket employee told officers who were at the store on an unrelated matter that multiple people were fleeing from the store with stolen items, Blendon Police Chief John Belford said. That included Young who had allegedly taken multiple bottles of alcohol. One officer went to the driver’s side of Young’s car and told her to stop, Belford said, while the other officer moved in front of the vehicle.

Young then put the car in gear and accelerated forward, Belford said, and the officer directly in the vehicle’s path fired one shot through the front windshield. Young’s car then traveled about 50 feet before coming to a stop on the sidewalk outside the store.

She was pronounced dead a short time later. Young was due to give birth in November, her family told The Columbus Dispatch. Her unborn daughter did not survive the shooting. Young was the mother of two sons, ages 6 and 3. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is leading the investigation into the fatal shooting, Belford said.

The names of the two officers and further information about them — including their ages and race — have not been released. They are on paid administrative leave while the shooting is investigated, which is standard procedure in such incidents, Belford said.
The shooting was captured on police body cam video, but it wasn’t clear Monday when that will be made public.

Young’s family told The Columbus Dispatch they have many questions about the shooting, mainly why she was deemed a lethal threat.

“She stole something from the store,” her grandmother, Nadine Young, told the newspaper. “You didn’t have to shoot the woman; she would have eventually gotten out of the … car. You didn’t have to kill her and the baby.”

You aim your car at a cop who told you to stop, = shoot until the threat stops.
We can talk about a pregnant woman stealing alcohol later. On second thought, she no longer needs the booze.

The cop was put in that situation by her actions

That part is true.

Shooting her was the best with which he could come up on a moment's notice.

I don't think he should disciplined for capping her ass,

but that being his best reaction wouldn't impress capable officers that I know.

The family will now be looking for their pot of cash.... The cop should then turn around and sue the family for raising a POS idiot that put him in this situation

Thanks.

Probably not in the long term, but the short term effects seem beneficial. Abuse, such as legendary truck driver usage, can't be very healthy over the long term. Not so sure about med students. Experimentation is one thing, but long term abuse should become a major health concern. They can PM Perry and Sybil how to Google it.

I support taking all medications that are properly prescribed and used. My dad needed him for his back related to a service injury in his late 20s. I've been morfortunate and only take occasional Naproxen for my knee, like if I'm going to be walking a mile or more. Have you tried going cold turkey for 24 hours? There's the effects from the ailment itself and withdrawal issues to balance.

Not a pharmacist, but I can see how they could do that.

I like a good, bold cup of coffee in the morning with a dolop of French Vanilla creamer.

Opioid Withdrawal Symptoms
Common signs of opioid withdrawal include:

 • Anxiety
 • Goosebumps
 • Restlessness
 • Insomnia
 • Yawning
 • Runny nose
 • Watery eyes
 • Widened (dilated) pupils
 • Body aches
 • Sweating
 • Vomiting
 • Belly cramps
 • Diarrhea
 • Fever
 • Shaking
 • Fast heartbeat
 • Rapid breathing
 • High blood pressure
 • Hallucinations
 • Seizures

These can show up within 12 hours after you take the last dose of the drug.

Many people feel so bad that they can’t give up the drug without help. How serious your symptoms are depends on several things, like:

 • How long you’ve been using the drug
 • How long the drug stays in your system
 • How healthy you are
 • Whether you’re quitting “cold turkey” or using other drugs to help you stop taking opioids

Tell me you'd turn down the cash and say "Oh, no, my mama deserved to git shot!"
