how much do you want to spend on ICE and border patrol

remember that illegals come in from canada and the canadian border is a lot longer than the us/mexico border

Since we don't bet much of a problem from those illegal Canadians, down here in AZ, I'll let the States that border Canada deal with that issue.

Just curious; what was the purpose of your query?

non-canadians come across the canadian border too

the purpose, to find out how much people are willing to spend on the illegal problem - just curious, are people willing to put their money where their mouth is

a significant number of illegals are non-latino - most over stay their visas and since they are non-latino, they are harder to spot...especially if they speak english with only a slight accent

I know that you weren't available when this was hashed over and rehashed, many times; I would be more interested in what your solution to the illegal immigration problem is.

put the otherwise law abiding illegals on a path to citizenship and deport the non-law abiding (felons), but just their immediate family

let them work and pay taxes

who else will work in the fields to get your produce, mow your lawns, clean your houses or watch your kids - except for working in the fields and sometimes even that, teenagers used to do those things, but not as much now

until i got my degree and a job as a programmer, i worked a lot of scut jobs like most high school and college students

And your solution for keeping millions more from sneaking across and taking advantage of this procedure.

people that want to work where there is work should be allowed to work jobs that no one else wants

offer green cards with proper id security at the border - if they abuse their path, deport them

fyi, most of the illegals bring a work ethic that would do our nation some good - unfortunately, their kids do not seem to keep the ethic

ps i lived for three years in pacoima, ca - a mainly black/latino area (my family was the only anglo family on the block)

we bought our first house there for 22,500 and sold it three years later for 45,000 and bought a house in the city of san fernando, ca - a mainly latino community

ps i lived for a while in venice, ca and was stopped because i had long hair and a beard...driving while a hippie...

1. No problem, unless you made the DECISION to come to the US illegally.
2. And how much is going to have to be spent to conduct all the background checks, before the green cards are issued
3. The "ps" was supposed to mean what, unless you're trying to prove something.
4. So that was the violation they cited you for??

The wages are artificially suppressed by the presence of the illegal labor. they make the jobs untenable for people who don't want to live 15 to a trailer. Let's enforce the border, then let the natural salary discovery process based on citizen labor alone work itself out.

teenagers don't do it as much because our wonderful government won't let most of them work.

BTW, my 3% vote is uninformed, and probably way way overpriced. If there's someone who can offer an accurate breakdown of border enforcement costs, that would be enlightening.

2. if you are not willing to pay for security then you do not get it - oat, even of you pay a lot, you may not get the security you wanted but tyranny
3. just that i have lived in areas of various ethnicity
4. i was stopped for a vehicle registration check - since i was not carrying and my registration was in order, they did not cite me

2. You want to change the system and that's what my comment was geared to.
There is already a system set up for green cards and you have presented no plausable reason to change it.
3. Which has what to do with this conversation.?
4. Since when is it legal to stop a vehicle, just to run a registration check??

Fuck it, if I see a young man with a German accent, I'm reporting his ass before he has a chance to kill anyone!!
