the purpose, to find out how much people are willing to spend on the illegal problem - just curious, are people willing to put their money where their mouth is

a significant number of illegals are non-latino - most over stay their visas and since they are non-latino, they are harder to spot...especially if they speak english with only a slight accent

put the otherwise law abiding illegals on a path to citizenship and deport the non-law abiding (felons), but just their immediate family

let them work and pay taxes

who else will work in the fields to get your produce, mow your lawns, clean your houses or watch your kids - except for working in the fields and sometimes even that, teenagers used to do those things, but not as much now

until i got my degree and a job as a programmer, i worked a lot of scut jobs like most high school and college students

The wages are artificially suppressed by the presence of the illegal labor. they make the jobs untenable for people who don't want to live 15 to a trailer. Let's enforce the border, then let the natural salary discovery process based on citizen labor alone work itself out.
