1) The effective tax rates were down so much due to the massive job losses

2) the effective tax rates were down so much due to the massive losses in the market, (which are used to offset income)

3) The taxes for calendar year 2009 were NOT the friggin issue. The issue is the massive government debt and the realization by all sane people that the massive spending is going to lead to HIGHER TAXES in the future. It is the massive SPENDING that the tea party wants stopped so as to alleviate the need to RAISE TAXES in the future. Again, I understand incompetent hacks like the those found at the Center for American Progress are going to try everything they can to spin this into a 'gee them tea party people is nuts' moment. They will continue to pretend it was 2009 that the tea party must be talking about.
