Occupiers or Grifters

By "absentee landlord", you really mean you didn't want to drive the 30 minute drive at least once a week.
The rest is just you justifying your greed of profit or human compassion.

I think I told you I was a Slumlord. It was not unusual for tenants to move out owing back rent. In fact, one did just that. Due to rental laws here it takes three months to get a tenant out once they stop paying rent. In other words they can live there for three months, rent-free. When they move they can leave windows and doors open inviting unwanted "guests". That's why it is important to keep an eye on the place and I couldn't do that being 20 miles away.

Justify much?

Before I moved I was one block away. The average city block is 1/15 or 1/20 of a mile. (http://www.land4ever.com/block.htm) So, do the math. When I moved I was 300 to 400 city blocks away. :whoa:

You can't beat that for justification. :D

Sure I can. You're just lazy and took profit over compassion.
But then; you must have expected them to act like animals, because you were treating them like animals.

Plus, you could have hired a guard, like you expect everyone else to do. :D

If you're talking about the Padre's laptop nobody leaves their laptop unattended in a place with public access especially when the "public" are poor, homeless people. Yes, Virginia, hungry people do steal so they can buy food which, having to do so, is a crime in itself as there is no shortage of food. People going hungry in a country that destroys tons of food to make gas for cars. It's an upside down world.

And addicts steal to buy drugs. Upside down is blaming the victim. I can imagine your reaction to somebody asking, "What was that girl doing in that part of town wearing that skirt?"

My guess is you apply this kind of standard only when the victim is somebody you deplore.

Did you have to think about this, or did it just come to you?

You're just being silly. :cig:

Now hold on a second! Two things I definitely do not deplore are girls and skirts. :cheer:

It was just reiterating what you said, and my take on why you would say it. If it is wrong, tell me why.

I am guessing you were actualy responding to Apple, mostly since you quoted him but also because I see no relevance between your comment and any I made in this thread.
