There are? Who would they be?

You need 60 votes to end a filibuster. There is no veto. It's already law.

According to that law, it doesn't matter who is President after that portion is enacted. There is no provision for the next President to nullify it. The notion is that it will take an act of Congress to rewrite the law. That's where the filibuster comes in.

On November 21, 2013, Senate Democrats used the "nuclear option" to require only a majority vote to end a filibuster of certain executive and judicial nominees, not including Supreme Court nominees, rather than the 3/5 of votes previously required.

First, no one is going to give a crap about drilling in frozen seas with the new discovery of the world's second largest oil field in Texas. Drilling in the Artic won't be financially viable for decades, now.

Secondly, in 2018 there are 33 Senate seats up for grabs, of which only 8 are republican. Which, with the Trump wave, almost insures a 60 seat senate majority for the repubs in 2018.

It may be true that at the favorable end of the spectrum that might seem like chocolate coated christmas on a stick.

The problem is it would then oblige the years long tenured "party of - N O - !!" to actually accomplish something.

But the Republicans have been obstructionists for so long it's not clear they actually know how.

Further: just what is it they WOULD accomplish, if they can?

- Restrict or ban abortion, under the wise and visionary leadership of the groper in chief?

- Increase U.S. military spending? FOR WHAT?!?!

Here's a hint.

If President Trump makes good on his commitment to deport all illegal aliens (or what ever walk-back iteration you prefer), watch what happens to consumer prices in food commodities. Those price increases will surely outpace inflation if Trump does.

Luckily, Trump may be many things, but a man of his word? I wouldn't worry about that.
