are you a city raised child? I was not and I worked on several farms. I found it fulfilling because it gave me a paycheck, plus I got to work in the outdoors (fresh air) as well as with the animals I loved. so what is it about children working on farms that your elitism finds abhorent?

It wasn't minimum wage or even close, but that mattered little since it was family. when I was 16, I started driving a water tanker for the asst fire chief in our town. we sprayed nearly all the surrounding farms with pesticides. As to forced labor, who the hell does that anymore? anyone? are we sure this bill isn't a solution in search of a problem?

that is not what i said

in fact i think just the opposite - i am no fan of agribusiness even though it helps keep the price of food down - the loss of nutrition and increase of toxins due to agribusinesses is bad

i would like to see more organic farms developed (this is happening in ca)

When I was 12 we got to work picking peas at a farm in washington state. My mom took all us kids (9 - 14 year olds) and dropped us off to spend the whole day picking. It was fun and it sucked all at the same time. I was a lazy picker compared to my sisters. They didn't have ADD medicine back then. LOL

I think it's shameful that our government is being used to create barriers like this. It's an assualt on liberty to deny opportunities to poor kids.
